The season of Patrik Laine and the Winnipeg Jets in the NHL hockey league was packaged on Thursday. Calgary Flames defeated Winnipeg 4-0 and pushed for further.

Calgary took the NHL playoff qualifying round match series to their name with a win of 3-1. The next opponent of Flames is not yet clear.

Dillon Dube took Calgaryn to the 1-0 lead after just over three minutes. Sam Bennett hit a locker room hit less than a second before the first break. Sean Monahan and Rasmus Andersson emptied the puck at the end.

Laine and Winnipeg No. 1 Mark Scheifele were immediately injured in the first match of the series against Calgary. The Jets managed to win the second game but the absence of star strikers was ultimately too much.

Laine collected 28 + 35 = 63 points in 68 matches in the regular season of the “corona season”. He set his pass record, but the goal was the lowest in a four-year NHL career. The wave point-to-match score (0.93) was the best of the career overall. He was able to do the same in his new season 2016-17.

Winnipeg can still win something big. In the second round of the NHL draft draw, the Jets have a 12.5 per cent chance of winning the number one booking round at this year’s booking event. Canadian super promise, winger Alexis Lafreniere shines as the grand prize of the draw.
