The Winnipeg Jets season was full of problems and adversity.

The team lost several of their top defenders elsewhere during the season, in addition to a star pack Dustin Byfuglienin a surprising withdrawal from the games under the regular season along with the second center Bryan Little with a long injury ate wildly at the team’s top skills.

Head coach Paul Mauricen according to him, the season was indeed one continuum of adversity.

– I’ve never seen my team go through anything like this. The losses of several top men combined with injuries… This game (last match against the Calgary Flames) was like a miniature of our season. The team played as hard as it could – they really did, Maurice commented to the media.

Captain Blake Wheeler annoyed the two top men, Mark Scheifelen and Patrik Laine injury already in the opening game of the Calgary series. Also a depth striker Mason Appleton injured in that struggle.

– The tank is completely empty. The team left everything on ice. The whole year was a real test from day one – I’m not saying the series drained from our hands (due to injuries), but I would have loved that we had been able to play through the series with those two players (Scheifele and Laine) in our lineup and see what it would have been like, Wheeler curses.

Both Scheifele, who experienced an Achilles tendon injury, and Laine Huil, who injured her wrist, would have been in the 2-3 week range as the games continued.
