The tops of motorsport will test their skills tomorrow 8.8. Neste Rally Finland eChallenge in Jyväskylä. In addition to the World Rally Championship digital challenge competition, the event offers the Finnish Championship final in digital track racing. Yle Areena will start broadcasting from the culmination of the eSM series as early as 1 pm and Yle TV2 will enter the final of the eWRC competition starting at 7 pm.

Impressive list of participants. Interesting still lifes. International atmosphere. The first Neste Rally Finland eChallenge in history is ready to start. In the host city of the Finnish World Rally Championship, right next to the familiar service park area in the port of Lutako, experts in traditional motorsport meet digital motorsport professionals. The free-access event is open to the public from 11:30 to 21:00 and the number of visitors to the area is limited to a total of 1,000 people due to responsibility policies.

Who will take and who will be left to kick the tires when the Finnish best of the World Rally Championship, led by Kalle Rovanperä, Esapekka Lapi and Teemu Suninen, start to measure their skills with Neste Rally’s virtual special stages? An attractive prize awaits the winner of the Neste Rally Finland eChallenge, as the winner of the highest podium will receive a wild card for the World Final of the World Rally Championship (eWRC).

Kalle Rovanperä: It will be interesting to try, it will not be easy!

– It will be interesting to start trying out how to compete with your competitors digitally. Hopefully then at the September World Rally Championships you will be able to try it again with the right equipment. It’s a lot of fun to ride here while waiting for the races, but it’s also a sport of its own, with its own highs. It will not be easy, but it will be tried, Kalle Rovanperä, who is driving the World Rally Championship in Toyota’s team, smiles in AKK’s press release.

Teemu Suninen: I guess it’s been a bit here, now let’s have fun!

Motorsport multi-talent Teemu Suninen will be contracting in both races on the day of the event, both in the Finnish Championship final in digital track racing and in the eWRC rally challenge. Suninen is by no means a novice, but he has had experience in digital car sports, or simracing, driven by simulators since 2017.

– It is really rare to be able to compete in two different competitions on the same day. Nice to get to see your competitors for a long time and compete against them in a playful way – it’s a bit old! Usually race weeks go to sleep and time to fight, but for once there is known to be a relaxed, albeit competitive, thing to do. Let’s start having mainly fun and provide good entertainment for the audience. And the career isn’t going to be interrupted even if it fails, laughs Suninen.
