SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE: Boris Johnson’s camping holiday sounds a right Carrie on

Boris Johnson‘s summer holiday plans have caused hilarity among his friends and former lovers.

The Prime Minister and his fiancee, Carrie Symonds, are taking their three-month-old son, Wilfred, on a camping holiday to Scotland.

But Petronella Wyatt, who had a four-year affair with Boris, has voiced her scepticism publicly.

‘Boris and Carrie are going to spend part of their Scottish holiday camping,’ Petronella told friends online. ‘That will finish off their relationship. Boris can’t cook and Carrie only likes luxe private villas in hot places.’

Carrie’s previous holiday with Boris was to the Caribbean last winter. The £15,000 trip caused controversy because of mystery over who paid for it.

After much confusion and demands by the Labour Party for a formal inquiry by parliament’s watchdog, it emerged that Conservative donor David Ross, co-founder of Carphone Warehouse, assisted Boris in securing a holiday villa on the private island Mustique.

No 10 sources have said the PM and Carrie will head to Scotland this weekend for a ‘paternity holiday’.

They will be north of the border for six days, which will include a ‘couple of days of camping’. Last month Boris declared that he planned to stay in the UK for his summer break.

He said: ‘I would encourage people still to think of wonderful staycations here. All my happiest holiday memories are of holiday vacations in the UK, bucket-and-spade jobs or whatever.’

Boris had promised to leave his second wife, Marina Wheeler, for Petronella, daughter of late journalist and Labour politician Woodrow Wyatt.

They met while he was editor of The Spectator magazine and she was his deputy. The affair resulted in a miscarriage and an abortion.

Boris was fired from his shadow cabinet post in 2004, by then Tory leader Michael Howard, for lying about the affair, as he had initially categorically denied it.

Meghan’s TV pal credits kids after life ‘fell apart’

The Duchess of Sussex’s best friend, Jessica Mulroney, has broken her silence after being fired from her role as a TV presenter for threatening to sue a black lifestyle blogger in a row over ‘white privilege’.

The 40-year-old, who attended Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, was let go in June from reality show I Do, Redo following her response to Sasha Exeter during an argument about ‘speaking up’ against racism.

Yesterday, Jessica returned to social media after a two-month hiatus to post a video of her twins Brian and John — pageboys at Meghan’s wedding — celebrating their tenth birthday.

In the caption for the video, featuring Jessica’s TV host husband Ben Mulroney, with whom she also has a seven-year-old daughter, she writes: ‘My incredible family have had to witness mom in the worst state.

‘These two boys have not left my side and gave me the will to live and work hard when everything fell apart. They deserve the best birthday. Only up from here.’

When one critic suggested she had been ‘dumped’ by Meghan, Jessica dismissed the rumours as ‘fake news’.

Although film producer Jemima Goldsmith enjoys an amicable relationship with her ex-husband, Imran Khan, the same cannot be said of his second wife, Reham Khan.

The British-Pakistani journalist, 47, remains as bitter as ever despite their ten-month marriage ending five years ago.

‘He understood that the way to my heart was to be extra kind to my kids,’ says Reham, who had three young children by her first marriage.

‘He said all the right things women want to hear. I think many women when chased ardently by men for months on end will give in.’

Imran, 67, now Pakistan’s prime minister, once reflected that he had ‘never claimed to be an angel’. But these days the former cricket star insists he is a changed man and ‘did not catch a glimpse’ of his third wife Bushra Bibi’s veiled face until after they were married.

Harlot star is no mug in the heat

Actress Jessica Brown Findlay has got her career sewn up after appearing in Downton Abbey and BBC2 drama Harlots, in which she plays an 18th-century prostitute.

But she still finds time to hone her domestic skills and was spotted sitting cross-legged in her local park in London embroidering a yellow cloth.

To make herself at home, she sipped from her £20 love-heart mug designed by the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite ceramicist, Emma Bridgewater, while wearing wireless headphones.

A Place In The Sun presenter, Laura Hamilton, has a confession to make about the outfits she dons on the show.

‘I can only wear the dresses on A Place In the Sun once,’ she says. ‘I’m lucky that brands will say, ‘We’d like you to wear this’.

When I’ve worn them, I sell them and donate the money to charity. I’m lucky enough to be gifted them, so why not give something back?’

Loyd Grossman offers students food for thought

Broadcaster Loyd Grossman has honorary doctorates from the Universities of Essex, Chester and Lincoln for his contributions to heritage and tourism.

But the former MasterChef host has confessed to a more dubious academic accolade.

His 1976 music book A Social History Of Rock Music has been popping up on campuses.

‘Rather disturbingly, I’ve found it on the reading list of a couple of university sociology departments — no university you’ve ever heard of,’ he says.

Grossman, who co-hosted the ITV show Through The Keyhole with Sir David Frost, is hardly a good salesman for his obscure tome: ‘It’s not light reading.

It was compared to Tolstoy when it was published or maybe it was compared to Toy Story, I can’t remember.’

Stone’s girl in a hoopla over hula…

Who says keep-fit is dull? Keith Richards’s model daughter Theodora has found a fun way to stay in shape this summer.

The 35-year-old, whose mother is former model Patti Hansen, shared a video of herself sporting a zebra-print bikini while showing off her impressive hula hoop skills.

‘Mrs Hoola’s Opus,’ she captioned it online. Perhaps she can convince her Rolling Stone father to give it a go after he admitted he finds exercise boring.

‘I get up and then, uh, you know, I sit down,’ he said.

‘I don’t do none of this trotting around, I think it’s bad for you.’

Anthea Turner says her phone was stolen after returning from Sardinia with her tycoon fiancé, Mark Armstrong — her first holiday in 18 months.

‘Smile was wiped off my face though back in sweltering London when, on Sunday, I had my phone pinched from my bag,’ she says.

‘With beach vibes still in my heart, I let my guard down and wasn’t as vigilant as usual.’

Flamboyant telly host Gok Wan is seldom lost for words. ‘

Alan Carr is a great friend, and one of the few times I have felt starstruck was when I went round to his house a few years ago,’ he recalls. ‘He was on the phone and told me to go into the front room.

‘Adele was sitting there watching telly. I’m rarely tongue-tied — but I was then.’
