‘When you think about it, [my work] has this common thread of creating the identity of a person…That’s been the project of my life. Just trying to feel seen and learn how to see others correctly.’

Schafer’s shoot also marked her official debut as the new global makeup ambassador for Japanese cosmetics giant, Shiseido, applied by makeup artist Holly Silius.

The 5ft10in Elite Model ‘was shook’ to land the ambassador gig, for which she plans on ‘exploring where beauty meets creativity.’

Schafer looked as ethereal and otherworldly as Oscar winner Tilda Swinton in a Y/PROJECT lavender dress accessorized with Lillian Shalom ‘Ghost’ pearl gloves.

The Calvin Klein stunner’s signature platinum-blonde locks were coiffed by hairstylist Rena Calhoun for the magazine.

Hunter made her acting debut as 17-year-old trans girl Jules Vaughn in the hit HBO drama, which scored six nominations for the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards airing September 20 on ABC.

‘I think, perhaps, there’s a bit of projection of Jules onto me, Hunter,’ Schafer explained.

‘Sometimes I dress like her; sometimes I like to dress like her. But she’s one part of me…I think I’m different from Jules in where I am with myself, and how I love people, and what my concerns are as far as being affirmed, and whatnot.’

Her castmate Zendaya Coleman was the only actor singled out from the series by the TV Academy for her role as recovering drug addict Rue Bennett.

However, production on the second season of Euphoria has been on hold ever since the March 11th script reading.

‘In order to do it the way we want to do it, we need to wait until it’s safer,’ Zendaya told InStyle last week.

‘There is an idea to do a couple of bridge episodes that can be shot safely but aren’t necessarily part of season two. So, hopefully, we will be able to do those in the coming months. I can’t wait!’

Hunter’s life of LGBTQAI activism began as early as 2013 at age 13, and she appeared as a plaintiff in the ACLU’s case to overturn North Carolina’s HB2 ‘bathroom bill’.

‘Even right now, I have to filter what I say, because more often than not I’ve found that when I say the T-word, whatever sentence that is becomes a headliner,’ Schafer noted.

‘I also understand the need for dialogue on it.’

After taking Shonda Rhimes’ Masterclass on TV writing, Hunter went stir crazy in isolation during quarantine and decided to take a road trip to see her sister in North Carolina.

‘I met her friends that she’s quarantining with, they approached me being like, “Damn, you have your life together. You know what you’re doing. You’ve got jobs, whatever.” And I’m so not that,’ the daughter of a Presbyterian pastor said.

‘I have no idea what I’m doing – just riding the wave that life is handing me and trying to be okay and keep my s*** together. I think whatever presence I have, in the public-figure world, presents itself as something more collected, but I’m messy. I am just trying to figure out how to be a 21-year-old.’

Still growing: 'I have no idea what I’m doing - just riding the wave that life is handing me and trying to be okay and keep my s*** together,' Hunter said
