Locky Gilbert denies there was a ‘revolving door of women’ who pulled out of the show when they discovered he was The Bachelor

The Bachelor’s Locklan ‘Locky’ Gilbert has broken his silence on rumours that ‘dozens’ of women pulled out of the show after realising he was the suitor.

Woman’s Day had reported earlier this week that several contestants dropped out after learning that Locky, 30, spends half the year living in Bali, where he owns a tourism company.

Addressing the gossip on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday, the former Australian Survivor star said: ‘I don’t see how that’s true because the girls don’t know who I am and I don’t know who the girls are. I don’t know where that’s come from.’

‘They said it’s because of Bali,’ he continued. ‘Bali is just a place [where] I have a business. I don’t need to live there.

‘I’m lucky enough to run my company from anywhere in the world. So yeah, I don’t know where that came from.’

It comes after a production insider claimed to Woman’s Day on Monday: ‘There was a revolving door of women; it was quite a headache for casting.’

Dozens of bachelorettes apparently quit after learning that Locky spends six months a year living in Bali, where he owns the Four Elements Adventure tourism company.

‘A lot of women were disinterested,’ the source said.

‘It was just hard to get them to sign up and compete for a guy who spends half his life in another country.’

Producers reportedly had to work overtime to ‘encourage the girls to take the process seriously and put it all on the line’ for Locky.

Tensions were running so high over the matter that the ‘awkward’ first few weeks of filming even saw the women argue over who would seriously consider leaving their friends and family behind to start over in Bali.

Despite the rumoured casting struggles, Locky has repeatedly assured fans that he found love on The Bachelor.

He said over the weekend: ‘I can definitely assure you I am madly in love. It’s an amazing feeling and to be able to say it out aloud now, it’s a really good feeling.

‘It’s definitely a love story that everyone will remember. It’s a crazy ride, I’ll tell you that,’ he added.
