‘Hello Merpeople. Rocking color by @fredericaspiras named after his mother who just passed…Suzie’s Ocean Blonde,’ she wrote.

‘I love you Freddie this was extra special glamour with love,’ wrote the singer, who has employed Frederic at Haus Of Gaga since 2009.

Over the course of his 11 years working with Gaga he earned an Emmy nomination for her season of American Horror Story, which was called Hotel.

Frederic announced his mother’s death on Instagram in mid-July, posting a photo-booth strip with her from when he was a child.

He uploaded the tribute on his own birthday and explained that Suzie died ‘from complications of lung disease due to her lung cancer surgery early this year.’

Frederic added: ‘As many of you know but for some who don’t, I speak of her a lot when I talk about my career path and upbringing. She made me who I am today and always believed in me throughout my life even when I didn’t believe in myself.

He wrote: ‘I will continue to honor her legacy thru living my best life.I am still very devastated and grieving but today especially so. As someone who always speaks from the heart, and for my birthday wish, I’m asking everyone to show yourself and everyone around you some love today in honor of my mother Suzie L. Nguyen.’

‘My mother was a hairdresser. She came to America from Vietnam in the mid-’70s, and I grew up in hair salons my whole life,’ he told Fashion Week Daily last year.

‘She owned her own business in San Francisco and was a good role model. She’s very independent and strong, with a great business mind.’

He also showered praise on Gaga, saying: ‘I’ve never met anyone like her who knows precisely how she wants her vision to be. She also surrounds herself with people she trusts who are talented at what they do.’

Frederic confessed: ‘It wasn’t easy in the beginning – I had to really prove myself. I was spending hours and hours, day after day, making wigs and wigs and wigs.

He recalled: “I did a lot of research. I love watching classic movies, which really helped. Gaga is such an encyclopedia of history in fashion, art, and music. The Haus of Gaga meetings are like board meetings – she’s at the head of the table, explaining her story, and then we go and do our homework.’

Gaga’s new post comes a day after she announced she will sing in this year’s virtual MTV Video Music Awards, marking her first performance at the show in seven years.
