‘Being a mum is the best and hardest thing I have ever done’: New mother Jesinta Franklin reveals she’s ‘finally’ ready to start exercising again…after welcoming daughter Tullulah five months ago

More than five months after welcoming her daughter, Tullulah, Jesinta Franklin is ready to start exercising again.

‘5.5 months postpartum and I am finally getting into exercising and moving my body regularly again,’ she began.

‘Physically my body recovered very quickly from birth, however, mentally I just haven’t been ready to workout.’

Jesinta confessed that life as a new mum had left her feeling ‘exhausted’, and she simply hadn’t been able to find time for exercise.

‘Without family support in Sydney and a little girl who hasn’t been the best sleeper, I have spent the last few months feeling so exhausted and unable to fit any workouts in around feeding, cooking, cleaning and attempting to keep up with small bits of work here and there,’ she continued.

Sharing a time-lapse video of her workout, Jesinta said she did her first exercise on Friday morning, participating in online Pilates and ab classes.

‘Looking forward to building my strength and fitness so I can keep up with my daughter who is growing and getting heavier by the day,’ she added.

Describing motherhood as both ‘the best and hardest thing’, Jesinta emphasised the importance of new mums taking care of their own wellbeing.

‘Being a mum is the best and hardest thing I have ever done and trying to find balance (whatever that is) has become more challenging than ever,’ she said.

‘I know taking care of me is really important too so I can be the best version of myself for my little girl. I feel like I have just been surviving the last 5.5 months and now I am ready to thrive!’
