Shirtless Hugh Jackman shows off his buff physique as he enjoys a brief summer swim in the Hamptons with his wife Deborra-Lee

The Australian actor gave up his muscly superhero character Wolverine, from the hit X-Men films, in 2018.

But last Tuesday, Hugh Jackman proved he certainly hasn’t given up his buff Hollywood physique in the process.

Going shirtless near his holiday home in the Hamptons, the 51-year-old showed off his washboard abs and bulging biceps.

Wearing black board shorts and slip-on sneakers, Hugh had been for a quick dip in the ocean to cool off. 

He carried his shirt and a hat in his hands as he shared a conversation with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

His wife of 24 years was dressed in bike shorts and a black T-shirt, while covering her face with a large hat and dark sunglasses.

Clearly well-trained dogs, they were allowed off leash as the couple soaked of the summer sun on the way back to their holiday home. 

In July, The Greatest Showman actor revealed he was homesick for Australia, after a lengthy lockdown in New York due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Deborra and their children, Oscar and Ava, were in Melbourne when COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March.

They initially flew there from New York on a work trip as Deborra-Lee directed several episodes of Neighbours. They then returned to America after just four days.

Hugh recently received a nod in the Lead Actor in a Limited TV series or Movie category for his role as Frank Tassone in Bad Education.

‘I’m humbled by the nominations for both me and the film and excited to be named with such a talented group of actors,’ he said in a statement at the time.  

Hugh added: ‘My immense appreciation goes out to all those who believed in “Bad Education” – especially the hardworking team at HBO.’

The 72nd Emmy Awards will take place on September 20 in Los Angeles
