Stranger Things’ Noah Schnapp confirms his Twitter account was hacked after it posts disturbing tweets

Noah Schnapp’s fans became concerned after his Twitter account began posting concerning Tweets on Saturday evening.

The 15-year-old Stranger Things star confirmed that his account had been hacked in a now-disappeared Instagram Stories post from over the weekend. 

Noah’s account first tweeted, ‘Suicidal thoughts’ at 6:27 p.m. ET, according to Variety, and fans quickly realized that something was wrong.

Prior to that, the actor hadn’t tweeted since July 16.

‘someone hacked my twitter it’s not me,’ he wrote in a text post to calm his fans down. 

‘i’m trying to get back and i’ll let you know when i do.’

As of Sunday night, the offending tweets have been completely wiped from Noah’s Twitter feed.

In addition to the first tweet referencing suicide, subsequent posts featured sexual content and racist language, including the use of the n-word.

According to Deadline, Noah’s account also retweeted other users who posted about smoking marijuana with him or getting into fights with him.

The retweets may be useful in determining who hacked his account if any of the retweet accounts were involved.

More recently, the Canadian–American actor has been focusing on TikTok, while his Twitter has been fallow for a month.

Will’s career began with a small role in Steven Spielberg’s drama Bridge Of Spies, starring Tom Hanks, and he voiced Charlie Brown in that year’s Peanuts Movie.

But his big break came in 2016 when he was cast as Will Byers on Netflix’s Monster hit Stranger Things.

Noah was only a recurring character for the first season, as his disappearance set his friends on a quest to rescue him, but he was promoted to a series regular for the second and third seasons.

The show as renewed for a fourth season in September 2019, and production on the season began in February, though it went into hiatus in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
