Mystery solved! The Bachelor host Osher Günsberg finally reveals why he’s always whispering at rose ceremonies

It’s one of the great mysteries of television: why does Osher Günsberg always whisper during The Bachelor‘s rose ceremonies?

Well, the popular host has answered that question, telling Mumbrella in September last year that he speaks softly out of respect for the heartbroken contestants.

He said at the time: ‘On The Bachelor, I whisper because I am essentially attending a memorial service for someone’s romantic dreams.’

‘Someone is getting their heart broken, so I’m very morose and very respectful of what’s happening,’ Osher added.

He went on to explain that he only speaks at ’10 per cent’ of his ‘full volume’ while filming the Channel 10 dating show.

The previous month, Osher also revealed why he speaks so slowly on The Bachelor.

A viewer asked him on Twitter at the time: ‘Why. Does Osher. Feel like he needs. To take a breath. So often. In. A sentence?’

He replied: ‘Because I like to make sure that three cameras can get reaction shots from 18 different people.

‘The actual mechanics of making reality TV are tricky sometimes.’

Osher is currently hosting The Masked Singer and The Bachelor for Channel 10.

Speaking to Mumbrella, he described The Masked Singer as ‘the opposite of The Bachelor’ in terms of his on-screen energy levels.

‘I wear suits that can light up a dark corridor, when I step out on stage they let off fireworks and I get danced in by a troupe of highly trained and incredible dancers,’ he said.
