The Bachelor‘s Locky Gilbert was set to visit the families of the remaining women vying for his heart.
But on Wednesday, he was unable to meet frontrunner Irena Srbinovska’s loved ones as Melbourne border closures prevented them travelling to Sydney.
After host Osher Günsberg delivered the news to Locky, 30, and Irena, 31, fans rushed to social media to say how they related with The Bachelor’s relief.

Before a fourth swiftly got down to brass tacks. ‘Bet Locky is relieved he doesn’t have to see the protective brother face to face,’ the wrote.

During the episode, Osher surprised Locky and Irena during their hiking date to break the sad news.
He explained that the COVID situation in Melbourne had worsened since she returned to the mansion and that Melbourne was under lockdown again and that the border between New South Wales and Victoria was shut.
‘Irena, I’m so sorry but your family was not able to make it today,’ Osher said as Irena hugged Locky.

On Wednesday night, Izzy Sharman-Firth and intruder Bec Cvilikas failed to get a rose from Locky, leaving Irena and Bella Varelis as the final two.
