Phillip Schofield has revealed that he will be discussing his mental health battle over the next few weeks.

The presenter, 58, who announced in February he was gay after 27 years of marriage, shared on Thursday’s This Morning that he has needed ‘a lot of help’ in recent times.

Phillip credited his wife, Stephanie Lowe, 56, and daughters Molly, 27, and Ruby, 24, for supporting him.

He said: ‘I will be talking a lot about my mental health over the next couple of weeks. I needed a lot of help in recent times. 

‘People who sit by the side of me right now is my wife at home Steph, my girls and my family. I realise not everyone is as lucky as I am to have sympathetic ears. The first point surely has to reach out to people.’
