Married At First Sight’s Tash Herz unleashes on ‘ex-wife’ Amanda Micallef

Married At First Sight star Tash Herz has given a scathing interview about her experience on Nine’s social experiment earlier this year.

The 31-year-old bartender appeared spoke to the Dames Who Dish podcast earlier this week about her ill-fated union with Amanda Micallef.

She accused personal trainer Amanda, 34, of going on the show for fame – which admittedly many do – and also said that the series took a toll on her mental health.

‘It’s taken me a year for me to get to a place where I can talk about it without feeling a lot of triggers,’ Tash explained.

She claimed that from the get-go, she had no attraction to Amanda and simply couldn’t form a romantic connection with her.

Tash then shared her suspicious that Amanda was only there to get on TV.

‘She was attached to the idea she would go on the show, find love, be a famous lesbian,’ Tash said.

‘She said to me on a number of occasions, “Even if were just friends, let’s work this as a business opportunity.” But I’m a bad liar.’

Tash described Amanda as her polar opposite and said she embodied ‘everything I dislike in one person’.

Tash also claimed she argued with Amanda over politics.

She alleged that Amanda expressed conservative attitudes, which she felt were at odds with being a member of the LGBT community.

‘Some days we couldn’t film cause we were clashing,’ she added.

Tash maintained that she was ‘victim’ in the scenario, despite the show portraying Amanda as the heartbroken, rejected bride.

She even claimed that a producer apologised for matching her with Amanda.

Later in the interview, Tash said she struggled with her mental health during and after the show.

‘I have really have moved on from MAFS. My mental health took a beating… I was at my absolute lowest point I have ever been when I was on that show,’ she said.

‘When they made us live together… I just wanted to die. I said to my producer, “I just don’t want to be here.” It’s been a recovery process since then. Anything that’s attached to [Amanda] has a lot of negativity.’

Tash and Amanda had a bitter split on the show, and have been taking potshot at each other in the press ever since.

In June, Amanda claimed on the Reality TV and Me podcast that she knew the instant Tash walked down the aisle that she ‘wasn’t the one’.

‘As soon as I turned around… I thought, “Far out, this is a set-up, man.” She’s covered in tatts… her energy and person is quite a different ball game,’ she said.

‘She looked like a party girl, she looked like someone who just wanted to do tequila shots every Friday night.’

Amanda went on to explain that her gut instinct was spot-on, with Tash telling her she’d had ‘two to three shots of tequila to calm down’ before their wedding.

Back in February, Amanda accused Tash and of staging paparazzi photos with her then-girlfriend Madison Hewitt in order to spoil the outcome of their ‘marriage’ for viewers, as it was still unfolding on TV at the time.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Nine and Amanda for comment.

The new season of Married At First Sight is currently in production and will air on Channel Nine next year.
