Chrissy Teigen and John Legend emerge from lockdown to shop in LA

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend surfaced from self-isolation in Los Angeles this Friday to run an errand or two.

The 41-year-old singer and the 34-year-old model were spotted keeping their masks on as they went shopping on Melrose Place.

Their latest outing comes two nights after John dedicated an emotional Billboard Music Awards performance to Chrissy amid their family tragedy.

Chrissy was halfway through her pregnancy with the couple’s third child when she tragically lost the baby a couple of weeks ago.

John and Chrissy, who married in 2013, share children Luna, four, and Miles, two, and were planning to name their next son Jack. 

Shortly after she lost the baby Chrissy posted Instagram pictures that showed her holding Jack and grieving with John and her mother Vilailuck.

Although she received some criticism on social media she was also defended by celebrities such as Kate Beckinsale.

In her post in support of Chrissy, Kate revealed that she herself ‘lost a baby at 20 weeks’ in a ‘soul destroying experience’ years ago.

John played the Billboard Music Awards this Wednesday and said: ‘This is for Chrissy,’ before launching into his song Never Break, a tribute to a couple trying to get through times ‘whenever life is hard.’

Chrissy broke her silence on social media after John’s gig writing: ‘We are quiet but we are okay,’ and adding: ‘Love you all so much.’

After his performance John posted a heartrending social media message in tribute to his wife as they continued to mourn.

‘This is for Chrissy. I love and cherish you and our family so much. We’ve experienced the highest highs and lowest lows together. Watching you carry our children has been so moving and humbling,’ he wrote.

‘I’m in awe of the strength you’ve shown through the most challenging moments. What an awesome gift it is to be able to bring life into the world. We’ve experienced the miracle, the power and joy of this gift, and now we’ve deeply felt its inherent fragility,’ added John.

‘I wrote this song because I have faith that as long as we walk this earth, we will hold each other’s hands through every tear, through every up and down, through every test,’ continued the Academy Award winner.

‘We promised each other this on our wedding day seven years ago, and every challenge we’ve faced has made that promise more powerful, more resilient. Our love will remain. We will never break,’ he vowed.
