Speaking to the camera, he said: ‘It is very early in the morning… last day of filming for How to Spend It with the team here.

‘First shot of the day, a whiskey sour. It’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it.’

The abode was appropriately decked out in festive decorations including lit garlands, candles and a Christmas tree covered in fairy lights.

Phillip then got a taste of luxury as he showed off a selection of truffles he was about to enjoy, which amounted to £150 for 30 grams.

Sniffing on an Alba white truffle, he said: ‘There are things we do on the show that are right up my alley. Look at all this truffle malarkey we’ve got going on.’

The show will arrive on the small screen later this year, with Phillip taking a coronavirus test to ensure he was safe to take part.

It comes after Phillip emotionally revealed that his mental health is still ‘a work in progress’ after publicly coming out in February.

Phillip explained he takes medication and has regular therapy sessions and ‘still doubts’ his decision to reveal his sexuality.

The star – who has admitted the secret of being gay ‘was going to give him a breakdown’ – has spoken candidly about struggling to accept his sexuality for the first time in his memoir Life’s What You Make It.

Phillip said: ‘My mental health is still a work in progress. I talk regularly to a professional team who tell me that everything will be okay.

‘Sometimes I have my doubts. If I’m totally honest with you, as I’ve said before, it’s not in my nature to hurt people and so, with that in mind, I’m finding it hard to pick my way through the debris.

‘Is there a way to reveal a secret like this to the world and not hurt your wife or your family? The answer is obviously not. But we are close and loving. We’ll get through.

‘Am I struggling with it all? Very much. I’m wearing new clothes, but they don’t quite fit. Maybe I’ll grow into them.

‘I still have dark days full of confusion, days when wading through life would be easier if the water wasn’t at chest height.’

Phillip made the decision to come out in February when he shared an emotional Instagram statement with his followers, before being interviewed by co-host Holly just moments later.
