Taryn Manning is pictured out in Palm Springs after making ‘false’ claims that she turned down DWTS

Taryn Manning is pictured out for the first time after ABC refuted her claims that she has repeatedly turned down offers to appear on Dancing With The Stars.

The 41-year-old picked up groceries in Palm Springs baring her midriff in a beige crop top and purple sweatpants and was later seen covered up in a graphic-print T-shirt.

The outing came after the actress hit back at comments from a Dancing With The Stars insider who said Taryn was never invited on the competition despite her claims she turned multiple offers down.

Controversy: Taryn Manning is seen picking up groceries on Monday in Palm Springs after DWTS reps hit back at her claims she turned down the show numerous times

The Orange Is The New Black alleged that she was approached by execs for DWTS ‘many times’ but she didn’t want to star on the dance show because she thought being on it would make her, ‘a has-been.’

She made her comments on Wednesday during a promo shoot for a robot called Gita, revealing, ‘I have this weird phobia that [competing on the show] means you’re a has-been, and I never want to believe that’s the case.’

A rep for the ABC reality competition series told Page Six they never approached Taryn, but her reps once tried to pitch her at one point.

‘Taryn claims she’s been asked to join the cast ‘many times, ‘however, we have never asked Taryn to be part of the show,’ a rep for the series said.

‘Her representation attempted to pitch her to us a while back and we kindly passed. So her claim that she was asked to join DWTS once, never mind many times, is completely false.’

The rep added, ‘Her thoughts that the contestants consist of “has-beens” seems to be her own projection onto talent that we have asked to cast.

Taryn fired back, posting some emails allegedly from ABC to Instagram, in an attempt to prove that the long-running show has tried to get her on the cast.

In one of the emails a person writes, ‘my office is casting [Dancing With the Stars],’ and says, ‘We would be thrilled to have Taryn Manning join the cast.’

However, a show insider told Page Six that the email is from an individual who ‘has never worked for or on behalf of the show in any capacity.’

Another email allegedly from ABC talks about a meeting to discuss the possibility of Taryn appearing but Page Six’s source says ‘an offer was never on the table’.

In the caption of her Instagram post, Taryn wrote: ‘I have been asked to be on your show multiple times and just to clarify that as you see in my photo attachments and btw, thank you for the offers over the years.’

She added, ‘So… side note – Due to the fact that you cast ‘The Tiger Lady’ on your program and me being a [sic] animal rights advocate and staunch vegan, I do not agree with any type of known endangered animal abuser in the entertainment circuit,’

The actress has also hit out at ABC for casting Carole Baskin from Tiger King, saying 'I don't support any type of animal abuse at all and I will never'

In a video she continued to criticize the show for casting Baskin.

‘It’s not that I don’t like Dancing with the Stars. I’ve been entertained by that program many times. I’m so proud of everybody. I don’t support any type of animal abuse at all and I will never. I’m a staunch vegan and it’s not because of health. It’s because I don’t torture animals period. I don’t like that they have Carole Baskin on.’

The current cast of Dancing With the Stars Season 29 includes Nelly, Anne Heche, Jeannie Mai, Jesse Metcalfe, Skai Jackson, AJ McLean and Carole Baskin from the Netflix sensation Tiger King.

The show has a much different look this year, with Tyra Banks taking over as the new host, and Derek Hough returning as a judge.
