Phillip Schofield spells former This Morning rival Eamonn Holmes’ name wrong in new book

Phillip Schofield has accidentally misspelled Eamonn Holmes’ name in his new book, Life’s What You Make It – potentially irking his former TV colleague.

The presenter, 58, who details his struggle with his sexuality in the book, refers to his former This Morning rival, 60, as ‘Eamon’.

The broadcasters are believed to have been on better terms since the Northern Irish journalist and his wife Ruth Langford supported Phil when he came out as gay live on the ITV programme in February following an alleged feud.

Awkward! Phillip Schofield (pictured left last week) has accidentally spelt Eamonn Holmes’ (pictured right on Monday) name wrong in his new book, Life’s What You Make It

A source told The Sun: ‘Eamonn, with two n’s, is raging. How did no one pick up on this in 400 pages?

‘If it’s a joke, Eamonn certainly wasn’t in on it and the error has ruffled feathers, yet again.’

According to the publication, the mistake happens four times in the book, which was published by Michael Joseph earlier this month.

In the autobiography, the media personality praises Eamonn and Ruth for publicly comforting him when he made his TV revelation as he says: ‘I went in to see Eamon and Ruth, who made me cry with their hugs and support.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Phillip and Eamonn for further comment.

Last year, Ruth, 60, reportedly made a formal complaint against Phil due to the ‘toxic’ backstage atmosphere the alleged feud had created.

It followed an incident in April 2019 which saw the Dancing On Ice host interrupt her while she was presenting a preview of Loose Women during This Morning.

‘Sometimes I have my doubts’: In Life’s What You Make It, Phil also revealed his mental health is still ‘a work in progress’

A report stated the situation behind the scenes at the daytime show had become ‘toxic’ in recent months, with employees too scared to speak out publicly for fear of backlash.

The Mail On Sunday revealed relations between the trio had been so bad that the couple snubbed the show’s Christmas party to avoid him.

In Life’s What You Make It, Phil also revealed his mental health is still ‘a work in progress’.

The Oldham native explained he takes medication and has regular therapy sessions, and ‘still doubts’ his decision to reveal his sexuality.

Phil – who even pulled out of a This Morning episode while struggling with his feelings – says: ‘My mental health is still a work in progress. I talk regularly to a professional team who tell me that everything will be okay.

‘Sometimes I have my doubts. If I’m totally honest with you, as I’ve said before, it’s not in my nature to hurt people and so, with that in mind, I’m finding it hard to pick my way through the debris.

‘Is there a way to reveal a secret like this to the world and not hurt your wife or your family? The answer is obviously not. But we are close and loving. We’ll get through.

‘Am I struggling with it all? Very much. I’m wearing new clothes, but they don’t quite fit. Maybe I’ll grow into them.

‘I still have dark days full of confusion, days when wading through life would be easier if the water wasn’t at chest height.’
