David Tennant and Michael Sheen will return to screens in a second series of the BBC‘s hit lockdown comedy Staged.
The sitcom will see the duo navigate their ‘new normal’ at home alongside their increasingly exasperated families.
In the new series, the Good Omens actors will tackle the world of ‘virtual Hollywood’ amid the Covid-19 pandemic – and deal with their fragile egos.

The comedy’s first series saw the actors play fictional versions of themselves, trying to rehearse for a West End production after being furloughed during lockdown.
In the show, the Welsh actor, 51, and his co-star are persuaded by their director to continue rehearsing for Six Characters in Search of an Author over Zoom instead.
The BBC have shared a teaser video for the new series, which sees David and Michael joined by new arrival Ben Schwartz, playing the assistant of both the stars’ American agent.
Michael becomes exasperated as an incompetent Ben reveals he has been emailing his job opportunities to David Frost, who the actor famously starred as in the 2008 movie Frost/Nixon.
In the clip, Ben asks: ‘Did you get the Tenet audition?’
‘The Joker? Did you get that? You got a straight offer for Joker, did you get that?’

The comedian then goes on to say that he will forward all the emails across to Martin Sheen, asking the actor if that ‘sounds good’.
Doctor Who star David, 49, is returning to the sitcom alongside his real-life wife Georgia, whereas Michael will be joined once again by his partner Anna Lundberg.
Series one cast members Lucy Eaton, Nina Sosanya and Simon Evans are also returning for the new series.
The comedy show follows the latest government guidelines on coronavirus to ensure the cast remain safely apart using self-shooting and video conferencing technology.
Speaking about the acclaimed show, Michael Sheen said: ‘It’s been so great to see how much people enjoyed the first series.
‘Seemed like the laughs were much appreciated. It made us really excited about taking it further and going in some surprising and hopefully enjoyable directions this time.’

Staged, from Infinity Hill and GCB Films for BBC One, aims to capture the public’s shared feelings of frustration and confusion at a world not quite ready to re-open.
Georgia Tennant said: ‘The prospect of getting my husband back into employment alongside the divine Ben Schwartz and the hairy, Welsh legend that is Michael Sheen all makes me very happy to be back for series two!’
Written and directed by Simon Evans, the first series saw surprise appearances from unexpected guests, including Judi Dench and Samuel L Jackson.
The upcoming series will see the regular cast yet again joined in their ‘virtual hell’ by a whole host of unexpected stars.
David and Michael, who also act as executive producers for the series, led the cast of Staged across six-15 minute episodes in the first series, which aired in June.

The two TV stars previously worked alongside each other in Amazon Prime’s Good Omens, which saw angel Aziraphale, played by Michael, and demon Crowley, played by David, form an unlikely duo to stop Armageddon.
David, who recently starred in Des as Scottish serial killer Dennis Nilsen, married his wife Georgia in 2011 after meeting on the set of Doctor Who.
The pair share children Olive, nine, Wilfred, seven, and Doris, five, and Birdie, eight months. David adopted Georgia’s 18-year-old son Ty when they married.
Quiz actor Michael shares a daughter Lily Mo Sheen, 21, with his ex-wife Kate Beckinsale and is currently in a relationship with Anna Lundberg.
It is not currently known when Staged will air, but further details on the new series are set to be announced soon.
