The Walking Dead: World Beyond: Elton turns against fellow teenagers as Iris and Silas grow closer

Elton Ortiz turned against his fellow teenagers on Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead: World Beyond as Iris Bennett and Silas Plaskett grew closer.

The episode titled The Wrong End of a Telescope opened with Elton, Iris, Silas and Hope Bennett headed to New York along with adult escorts Felix Carlucci and Huck from their Campus Colony.

Felix and Huck were determined to get the children to return to Campus Colony that unknown to them was decimated in a massacre.

The security officers decided that Felix would work on changing Elton’s mind about the mission to rescue Iris and Hope’s scientist father Leo who was being held by the Civic Republic Military, while Huck would focus on getting Hope to reverse course.

The group was short on supplies as a storm approached and decided to take refuge in a high school.

They paired off with Felix and Elton, Huck and Hope and Iris and Silas out looking for supplies in the school.

Hope mocked sunglasses that she found while Huck worked on her changing her mind.

Huck reminded that Hope that she left a trail to be found and the teenager said her behavior was reminding her of her father.

She was then shown in a flashback with her father Leo who scolded her for setting off stinkbombs at school.

Hope said they were ‘time-released’ stinkbombs that took her two weeks to make as she lamented not being as smart as high-achiever Iris.

Leo said that he never wished for another Iris and loved Hope unconditionally before acknowledging her handiwork with the stinkbombs.

Felix worked on Elton while they were scavenging and they came across blood smeared on the ground.

Iris and Silas meanwhile were in the gym where they came across a poster for a Sadie Hawkins dance.

‘She must’ve gone to school here,’ Silas said.

Iris and Silas got locked in, but they made the best of it as they danced together in a dreamy scene that included images of high school students dancing with them.

Elton freaked out when zombies trapped in lockers made him claustrophobic as he remembered hiding in a closed space as a boy from zombies.

Felix used the opportunity to try to convince him to return home and showed Elton his arm tattoo reminding him of all the loved ones that he’s lost.

‘I can’t lose anyone else. I won’t. That’s exactly why I need your help. I need your help convincing the others just to turn around. All I’m asking for you is to think about it, OK? Just think about it,’ Felix told him.

A wolf blocked Hope and Huck and they realized that it was protecting its young, which made Hope understand that her father always had been protecting her.

Hope admitted to Huck that a few days ago she would have turned back, but now she was resolved to find him.

Silas and Iris got trapped by walkers and Silas had flashbacks of being accused of killing his father.

He lost it and bashed a zombie with his bare hands and even struck Elton who tried to intervene.

‘I’m sorry,’ Silas said holding up his bloodied hands.

The incident apparently helped Elton make up his mind as he asked Felix about his plan to turn around and go back.
