The Bachelorette: Frazer and Joe’s secret texts about Elly revealed

Joe Woodbury was devastated when Elly Miles revealed he wasn’t the one for her during Thursday night’s Bachelorette finale.

But it appears the runner-up has moved on from his heartbreak, as he sent winning suitor Frazer Neate a gracious text message as the episode went to air. 

Frazer, 28, told news.com.au on Friday: ‘[Joe and I] talked last night and texted this morning, so things between us are all fine.’

‘He just wished me all the best of luck with everything and said he was happy for us, and I just said he should be really proud of himself. He handled himself really well,’ Frazer added.

Adding that the pair had become friends since filming wrapped in September, he continued: ‘He handled it like a real gentleman and it goes to show what kind of man he is. Whoever ends up with Joe is going to be very lucky because he’s a ripper.’

During Thursday’s emotional Bachelorette finale, Elly made the unprecedented move of dumping Joe before the final rose ceremony.

Elly was inconsolable during her heart-to-heart with Joe, who had previously confessed he was falling in love with her.

She began by telling Joe how happy it made her feel to hear that his feelings for her were so strong.

‘You tell me that you’re falling in love with me. You know, I can’t tell you how happy that makes me feel, hearing you say those words to me,’ she said.

‘I just don’t know if I felt the way I was supposed to feel hearing you say that, Joe.’

Elly explained that she would be ‘lying’ to herself and Joe if she did not pull him aside and reveal where her heart lies.

‘I’d be lying to myself and I’d be lying to you if I didn’t come and tell you honestly, that, you know, my heart’s elsewhere. Joe, I’m so sorry,’ she said.
