I’m A Celebrity 2020: Jordan North bags 12 stars after smashing first solo trial

He has shrieked his way through a series of gruelling trials since arriving on this year’s version of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

And Jordan North was triumphant on Thursday, as he successfully managed to collect all 12 stars during the Trapped Door trial, securing a meal for his camp mates.

As well as bagging the maximum number of stars for camp, his co-stars commented that he returned to them a ‘completely different person’.

Wahey! Jordan North was triumphant on Thursday, as he successfully managed to collect all 12 stars during the Trapped Door trial, securing a meal for his camp mates

Jordan arrived in the Trials area and was greeted by hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, both 45, during the latest episode of the ITV programme.

So far he has entertained viewers by screaming for his ‘happy place’ which is Burnley football club’s ground Turf Moor during the trials he has partaken in.

Ahead of his latest task, he told Ant and Dec he was terrified as they explained the new trial to him, which consisted of crawling into an underground tunnel.

Ant told him: ‘You’ve got to make your way through the Trapped Door, once you get past that you’re in an underground tunnel.

‘Inside the underground tunnel you need to lie flat on a trolley and use the rope which is above you to manoeuvre your way through the tunnel which contains a series of stars.

‘When you find the stars you have to stop the trolley and work out how to release each star.’

Dec continued: ‘There are 12 stars hidden in there. Each one equals a meal for camp tonight. When you do reach a star get it in your star bag and keep it there. Only stars in your bag at the end of the trial will count. You’ve got 12 minutes to find 12 stars.’

Jordan told Ant and Dec that he didn’t like confined spaces and that he didn’t even get into lifts.

But he added: ‘This whole process has been a massive confidence booster for me. I was scared of everything. I’ve done everything now. I’m going to give it a go.’

Jordan stepped through the trap door and positioned himself on the trolley. He pulled himself through the tunnel at which point maggots rained down on him.

‘Happy place happy place’, he said to himself as more came down.

He saw three stars on a piece of twisted wire and started to screw them off.

He implored himself not to panic and even pulled the wire off its support at once stage as he managed to claim the three stars.

Hard work: 'When you find the stars you have to stop the trolley and work out how to release each star'

There was another hanging above him which again he managed to retrieve as he sang to himself. He got a total of four stars in that section and then pulled himself along with the rope into the next.

The next set of stars were on poles and he had to move them around to free them like a puzzle.

Again, he managed to free the stars as maggots, mealworms crickets and cockroaches rained down from above.

Dec continued: 'There are 12 stars hidden in there. Each one equals a meal for camp tonight. When you do reach a star get it in your star bag and keep it there. Only stars in your bag at the end of the trial will count. You've got 12 minutes to find 12 stars'

There was a fourth star hanging above him which again he claimed and put in his bag.

The next section of the tunnel contained holes that he gingerly had to put his hands into and he managed to retrieve more stars.

He spent the last minute of the trial trying to find the final star but couldn’t and he was released from the underground tunnel as the time was up.

However, when he counted the stars, he discovered that in fact, he’d won all twelve. ‘That’s like putting on your jeans and finding a fiver’ joked Dec.

As he headed back to camp, he said: ‘I cannot believe I got 12 stars. I’m chuffed to bits. I can’t wait to go back to the camp and tell the guys.’

‘I only got 12’, he joked when he returned.

Jordan said: ‘I’m absolutely buzzing. Let me tell you. There’s no better feeling coming back to camp on your own and telling all your campmates you got 12 stars. Their reaction was better than what I imagined. I’m elated. I’m so happy.’

But he added: 'This whole process has been a massive confidence booster for me. I was scared of everything. I've done everything now. I'm going to give it a go'

Vernon said: ‘He’s come back with 12 stars but most importantly of all he came back a completely different person.’

Beverley said that she thought Jordan’s parents would be proud of him.

And Jess said: ‘We’re just so proud of him. Forget the food, it’s not about the food. Jordan, vomit off the side of a cliff edge Jordan, got a full house all by himself. It’s incredible.’

Their squirrel meal comes after the campmates were horrified as they received dinners of rabbit and eel following successful trials, earlier in the week.

The celebrities were fed Welsh rabbit during Sunday’s launch show, with Beverly Callard protesting: ‘I can’t eat bunny.’

Jessica claimed she couldn’t eat the food as she’d had a rabbit as a pet when she was younger: ‘I had a pet rabbit when I was a kid called Boris and I just think of him.’

On Monday night, the celebrities were left baffled once again after they were given slimy eel for dinner.

Talking in the Telegraph, Jordan, who faced his fears with Shane Richie to win the meal, voiced his fury

He said: ‘I’ve just been in a piggin vault full of snakes and get home to my castle and I’ve got eel. Eating eel – fish snakes, not fish cakes.’

Elsewhere during Thursday’s episode, a creepy jester set newcomers Russell Watson and Ruthie Henshaw sneaky secret challenges.

And Ruthie’s, 53, first challenge was to convince fellow campmate Jordan to massage her bare feet, to which he courteously obliged.

Viewers praised the BBC Radio One DJ for being ‘such a nice lad’ and were then left in hysterics as he swiftly sanitised his hands, with a disgusted look across his face.

Jordan has quickly become a fan favourite since I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! began airing, and has been voted to do every trial so far.

He triumphed over his fear of snakes during Monday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! as he and Shane Richie won nine stars for the camp.

Later on the show, Shane and Beverley were hoping for some treats for camp when they faced Castle Coin’s Spot the Difference Challenge.

But the EastEnders actor and Corrie legend had a challenge working together, with Beverley jokingly describing working with Shane as an ‘education’.

The campmates came across two sheds in a clearing in the woods and had to play a spot the difference game for a chance to win any tasty treats from Kiosk Cledwyn.

The pair had to find and say all ten differences between the two nearly identical barns to win the entire lot.

The two sheds contained all sorts of objects from old paintings to hammers and bunches of keys, giving the contestants a lot to sort through.

Beverley and Shane had to work out what was different between their two sheds, and after much deliberation, managed to complete the challenge.

Speaking after the task, Beverley jokingly described working with Shane as ‘an education’ as she said he ‘can’t tell the time’ after he mistakenly told her the incorrect time on his clock.

His clock was frozen at three o’clock during the challenge, but he asked Beverley if hers also pointed to nine o’clock in his awkward blunder.

He later exclaimed: ‘No what am I talking about, mine says 3 o’clock!’

‘It’s been an education working with Shane’ said Beverley, ‘because now I realise he can’t tell the time’.

Later in the challenge, the pair had another spat after Beverley asked her campmate ‘are you listening?’ prompting Shane to reply ‘I’m listening but I’m losing the will to live!’.

And Shane also proved that he had trouble counting, as well as reading a clock, after Beverley quickly counted 28 keys on an old-fashioned ring, while Shane only counted three in the same time.

The actor then went on to tell his co-star that he would have to start counting all over again after she interrupted to pester him on his progress.

Speaking after the task, Beverley exclaimed: ‘How long did it take him to count those keys?’

And I’m A Celebrity’s fans took to Twitter after being baffled by Shane’s struggles with counting and telling the time after watching the Castle Coin challenge.

Former I’m A Celeb contestant John Barrowman even took to Twitter to say that the comedy duo ‘do make me laugh’ after watching their hilarious challenge.

Meanwhile one fan penned: ‘Shane Richie – he is so funny! He doesn’t know how to count, tell the time, but he knows how to make jokes!!!’

And another Twitter user joked: ‘Who knew that Shane Richie is worse at telling the time than Joey Essex?’

Another fan of the show also hilariously wrote that Shane ‘needs to go back to school to learn his numbers’ after his amusing gaffe.

After winning the challenge, the duo headed over to Kiosk Cledwyn and saw they had the option of ready salted crisps or custard creams – and they went for the custard creams.

Kiosk Cledwyn called the other eight campmates, with new arrivals Ruthie Henshall and Russell Watson answering the phone together for the first time.

They relayed the question to the celebrities: ‘What was the first name of Shakespeare when he was baptised, A/William or B/Walter?’

Stage stars Ruthie and Russell were insistent that the correct answer was Walter, leading the camp to agree with them and choose option ‘A’.

But to their disappointment, Kiosk Cledwyn immediately shut his doors on Beverley and Shane, and they had to return to camp at Gwrych Castle empty-handed.

At first, the campmates thought that Beverley and Shane must be tricking them, but after realising that it was no joke, they were gutted to be deprived of custard creams.

At the end of the day, the reason that the camp missed out on their custard creams was revealed, after it came to light Ruthie and Russell had been taking part in a jester challenge.

Ruthie had to get Jordan to give her a foot rub, while Russell had to convince his co-stars he’d seen a ghost, and they both had to convince their camp mates of the wrong answer to the Coin Challenge question.

However it al seemed worth it when the rest of the celebrities were particularly over the moon when their luxury items arrived.

Mo had a picture drawn by his children, Vernon had a blanket from his sofa at home which he uses when his family watches TV together, Jordan had a Burnley scarf and AJ had curl cream for his hair.

Hollie had her dressing gown which was 10 years old, Beverley had a hairbrush, Shane had his daughter’s shower gel.

Jessica also got emotional and teary as she had a mug with a photo of her daughter on.

Ruthie was happy to get some mascara, Russell had a pillow that had travelled the world with him and Giovanna revealed she’d picked S Club 7’s Reach for the Stars so the camp could have a boogie (she gets 3 plays of the song).
