Ant Middleton: ‘Why Rebel Wilson would NEVER last on SAS Australia’

Why Rebel Wilson would NEVER last on SAS Australia: Drill sergeant Ant Middleton says the Hollywood star wouldn’t be a good fit for Seven’s military-style show

He put local celebrities like Ali Oetjen and Schapelle Corby through their paces as a fearsome drill sergeant on Channel Seven’s SAS Australia

But there’s one Aussie star that former British soldier Ant Middleton refuses to work with on the gruelling military-style show.

Ant, 39, told News.com.au that actress Rebel Wilson wouldn’t be the right fit for the series – despite her dramatic weight-loss transformation this year.

The pair have become ‘good friends’ since filming a new program for Seven called Ant Middleton and Rebel Wilson: Straight Talking, which documents their four-wheel drive journey across Mexico.

‘Rebel was a lot more hardcore than she gives herself credit for, but SAS wouldn’t be the right course for her,’ Ant said.

‘Now that we are good friends, I love her way too much to be shouting at her! Plus we are a team now, so she would probably tell me to f**k off.’

Earlier this month, Rebel sent fans into a frenzy when she teased her collaboration with the retired Royal Marines Commando on Instagram.

The show is the perfect way for Rebel to top off her ‘year of health’, which has seen her lose more than 20kg since January.

Phil Edgar-Jones, the TV executive behind the new series, told The Sun earlier this month: ‘Ant’s finely honed skills in interrogation and strategic questioning along with his open and friendly nature will help him get to know the real Rebel Wilson, amidst the incredible backdrop of remote Mexico.’

Off limits: 'Rebel was a lot more hardcore than she gives herself credit for, but SAS wouldn't be the right course for her,' Ant said. 'Now that we are good friends, I love her way too much to be shouting at her! Plus we are a team now, so she would probably tell me to f**k off'
