Devised to celebrate the launch of Now TV’s Christmas movie season, the new ad also reflects the streaming service’s new drive to spread some festive cheer following a year blighted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Viewers will be given the opportunity to send their very own Love Actually inspired greeting to family of friends, with the message delivered directly to their doorstep.

The scene upon which the campaign is inspired saw a lovelorn Lincoln deliver the message to a stunned Knightley, shortly after she exchanges vows with his best friend.

The film, written and directed by Richard Curtis and featuring an ensemble cast of established stars, became one of the biggest box office hits of the year following its release in 2003.

McCutcheon plays Natalie, an unassuming Downing Street secretary who finds herself falling in love with the recently elected Prime Minister, played by Hugh Grant.

The multi-stranded narrative finds Natalie being hastily moved to another job by the PM, only for him to conduct a frantic search for her after realizing that he feels the same way.

Reflecting on her role in an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2019, Martine insisted the unlikely couple – who ultimately reunite backstage at a Christmas play – would have lasted the course.

She said: ‘I think they would have stayed together. Obviously we had the Love Actually comic relief reunion earlier this year.

‘As far as I can see – and who am I to tread on the genius toes of Richard Curtis – they would stay together, had a couple of children.

‘Life, politically, would have had a lot of ups and downs, but she would have been making him laugh every step of the way.’
