Six-bedroom Chelsea townhouse with award-winning gardens that’s on market for £17.5MILLION

A luxury £17.5million London townhouse in one of the capital’s most desirable areas, and that has never been lived in by its present owner, has hit the market.

The immaculate six-bedroom house is located in Chelsea’s Carlyle Square and is two doors down from the former home of the late broadcaster Sir David Frost.

The square, which has its own private security patrol and award winning gardens, was also home to actress Dame Sibyl Thorndike from 1921-1932, while author and essayist Sir Osbert Sitwell also lived there.

Notorious spy, Kim Philby, who was a double agent for the Soviet Union, once lived at Number 18.

But the owner of Number 24, the house on the market, has never been lived in by its current owner. The owner has not been revealed.

Set over six floors, the house has many clever touches that make the most of its space and location as well as a private garden.

‘The recent lockdowns have seen an increase in demand for homes with gyms, cinemas and outdoor space. People want even more from their home now and this house has it all, including a dedicated security patrol of the Square.’

He believes the property is perfect for family living and will attract local and international buyers, especially those keen to save on tax before the implementation of the foreign buyers’ tax due to commence next year.
