Live like Bond! 007 legend Sir Sean Connery’s flat in London’s Belgravia goes on sale for £1.6m

Bond buffs will be lining up after a plush flat in Sir Sean Connery‘s luxury former London home has gone on sale for £1.6 million.

The first-ever James Bond lived in the stunning townhouse in Eaton Square, Belgravia, and also owned the house next door.

For Bond fans the building gets even better as Sir Roger Moore lived in the square at the same time as Sean Connery and the pair were close friends.

James Bond himself also had a fictional house in the salubrious square in Ian Fleming’s books, as the author lived round the corner on Ebury Street.

Sir Sean used to own two buildings in one of London’s most prestigious neighbourhoods – the numbers six and seven in Eaton Square, Belgravia.

One of the buildings was split into apartments and it is one of those apartments that is now up for sale.

In 2016, it was named the most expensive street in the UK – with an average house price of almost £17 million.

Yet the opulent one-bedroom home, in Sir Sean’s old pad, is listed for just £1.6million.

The bright second-floor flat is upmarket and stylish – worthy of 007 himself – with an elegant reception room as the perfect spot to enjoy a martini, shaken not stirred.

The luxurious bedroom is lined with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and the bathroom is brightly decorated.

Eaton Square itself has similar high-flying figures to those Bond would have encountered on his missions.

Built by the Grosvenor family in the 19th century, Eaton Square features grand homes and apartments featuring Grade II-listed white stucco facades.

Three Prime Ministers lived in the beautiful town houses, including Margaret Thatcher.

And the prestigious neighbourhood also used to be home to Nigella Lawson, Charles Saatchi and Prince Andrew’s partner Sarah Ferguson.

Knight Frank is the estate agent marketing the property in Sir Sean’s old building.

Agent Stuart Bailey said: ‘At the same time Sir Sean lived at number 6 Eaton Square, Roger Moore lived at number 22. By chance they lived really close to each other.’

The property’s description says: ‘A very bright second floor apartment overlooking Eaton Square gardens.

‘This west-facing flat has been refurbished to a high standard.

‘There is a large west-facing reception room and a separate kitchen, as well as one double bedroom and a bathroom.

‘Eaton Square is located in the heart of Belgravia and is regarded as one of the best addresses in London.

‘The property is located 0.2 miles from Sloane Square underground station as well as the Kings Road, Victoria and Knightsbridge.’

And this isn’t the only home of the From Russia With Love star on the market at the moment.

Sir Sean’s luxury £27 million French Riviera mansion in Nice is also up for sale by Knight Frank.

The stunning home is still referred to as ‘Sean’s place’ by locals.

The movie star made this opulent property his long-time home during the 1980s and 1990s.

The five-bedroom villa comes with indoor and outdoor pools, and a 5,000 square metre garden oasis.

The movie icon died in November, aged 90.

He was the first James Bond, and appeared in seven of the franchise’s films.

The swarthy Scot also won an Oscar for his portrayal of Jim Malone in the 1987 films The Untouchables.
