Nicole Kidman has revealed the ‘disturbing’ impact that filming The Undoing had on her body as her immune system doesn’t know ‘between acting and truth’.
The actress, 53, stars as Grace Fraser in the HBO thriller series where she discovers her oncologist husband Dr. Jonathan Fraser (Hugh Grant) has not only been having an affair, but has also bludgeoned his artist lover Elena (Matilda De Angelis) to death.
And now Nicole has admitted that filming the show left her feeling ‘uneasy’ with a ‘disquietness’ to her personality.

The star said that other actors are able to differentiate between ‘acting and the truth’ but that it ‘doesn’t really work’ for her.
Speaking on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, Nicole said: ‘Even on The Undoing it kind of happened where I just like suddenly was in this place of…
‘There was sort of a disquietness to my personality, where I was uneasy and there was duress on who I was.’
Nicole also revealed that she was left unwell as her immune system doesn’t know ‘between acting and truth’.

She continued: ‘I went down for a week, because your immune system it doesn’t know the difference between acting and truth when you’re doing them.
Nicole added that sometimes when she leaves filming, she is left unable to sleep and not feeling well. She said: ‘It’s that disturbing for me!’
The star noted that she is unable to train her body between acting and truth, adding: ‘It doesn’t really work for me!’

The Undoing came to a close on Sky Atlantic in the UK in December after it was revealed who murdered Elena, after Jonathan was arrested for the crime.
The six-part series is based on Jean Hanff Korelitz’s book You Should Have Known, which follows a marriage counsellor whose seemingly perfect life disassembles in front of her.
In the end, Jonathan was unmasked as Elena’s killer, despite mounting evidence in previous episodes that someone had framed him.

A major cliffhanger at the end of episode five had left viewers once again questioning the culprit, after Grace (Nicole Kidman) discovered a mallet – the potential murder weapon – hidden in a violin case by their son Henry in his bedroom.
Nicole also had a difficult role to play in the hit series Big Little Lies, where her character was trapped in an abusive relationship.
Season one of Big Little Lies explored the complex and disturbing marriage between Celeste and Perry Wright, played by Alexander Skarsgård.
