Georgia Toffolo denies she went on skiing trip during pandemic after This Morning clip

Georgia Toffolo was forced to leap to her own defence on Monday, as she faced a barrage of criticism after being shown holidaying in Verbier on ITV’s This Morning.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 26, was shown hitting the slopes of the glitzy Swiss resort, prompting several viewers to question whether it was shot during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has sparked lockdowns and travel restrictions.

However, Toff – who has been riding out the third lockdown at home in London – took to Twitter within minutes of the luxury travel segment airing to assure that there was no rule-bending involved, as it was shot back in 2018.

One viewer tweeted: ‘@ToffTalks on #thismorning: look at me hitting the slopes on Verbier, enjoying a delicious fondu and chatting with people without masks while you peasants are at home dealing with a pandemic.’

Responding directly, the TV personality wrote: ‘It was filmed in 2018,’ ending her tweet with a laughing emoji.

Still, the show faced criticism for the timing of airing the clip, given that millions have been financially impacted by the fallout of the pandemic.

‘Yeah like we really need to see Toff showing us one of the most exclusive skiing resorts for possible future holidays,’ wrote one viewer.

‘With thousands of us fearing for our job thousands on reduced incomes and kids living on food parcels you plugging Verbier with Toff….. get real,’ stated another.

Said a third: ‘Not thinking of the situation or the fact that most people watching can barely keep the roof over their heads or feed the family #thismorning lets film Toff skiing and remind people what they won’t be doing any time soon… #Thoughtless.’

Days before the three-year-old clip was aired, Georgia appeared to be in a reminiscent mood, when she shared a snap of herself enjoying a sun-soaked holiday.

The media personality displayed her lithe physique in polka dot bikini bottoms and a contrasting blue top with the word ‘Honey’ emblazoned across the front.

The reality star has been spending time at home after the UK was plunged into a third lockdown at the start of January, to prevent a rise in coronavirus cases.

However, Georgia has been keeping herself busy as it was recently revealed that she left her management company to set up her own agency.

Documents on Companies House reveal that Georgia launched her new venture under the name The Visionary Talent Agency.

Sources confirmed that the TV personality has already signed 15 people to her agency and left her former management under ‘amicable’ circumstances.

The blonde beauty also spoke with Daily Mail and confirmed a report that she makes around £5,600 per sponsored post as she said: ‘It’s in that ball point.’

The social media site is now her main source of income since she left the reality show Made In Chelsea and went on to win reality show I’m A Celebrity in 2017, where she struck up an unlikely but enduring friendship with jungle campmate Stanley Johnson.

‘I don’t want to be the girlie who just does the rounds and flits to different reality shows. It doesn’t appeal to me’, the TV star added.

The socialite recently signed a four-book deal with romantic fiction specialists Mills & Boon, and has recently published Meet Me In London.

Toff’s discussion comes amid claims her ex love interest, Jack Maynard, is dating Pippa Middleton’s relative Lily Mackie.
