Fans go wild as they discover Toni Pearen’s hilarious performance

Toni Pearen may have won the hearts of Australia on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, but it appears the former Funniest Home Videos host has well and truly revived her music career, too.

Since entering the jungle, a YouTube video of the 48-year-old’s performance from the Diva Awards in 1995 has gone viral.

In the video, Toni is spotted in a white one-shoulder top and matching hot pants, while she singing ‘Walkaway Lover’.

Although the footage was posted in 2011, a few fans commented in the past, with writing: ‘Awesome, Toni is a great singer.’

‘Two thumbs down and only two thumbs up? Thought this was a good vocal performance, I wasn’t sure before this if Toni could really sing or if it was just studio polishing on her songs,’ a second added.

Meanwhile, a third took to the comments section only two weeks ago to share their views. ‘Yeah, I was shocked she can actually sing live! Go Toni! Very impressive,’ they began.

‘Shame she never continued with this great dance music. She honestly sounded better than Kylie [Minogue] and Delta [Goodrem] at Mardi Gras!’

This is not the first time eagle-eyed viewers have gone searching into Toni’s musical history.

Earlier this month, she reaped the benefits of her TV exposure, with the music video for her 1992 hit In Your Room going viral on social media.

Fans rediscovered her pop career after flocking to YouTube, shortly after an episode of the reality TV show aired.

The comments below the video for In Your Room are now filled with messages from fans saying ‘I’m a Celebrity brought me here’.

‘Totally forgot this crush!’ one fan wrote.

Another added: ‘Without a doubt the cutest woman on earth and watching I’m a Celebrity [proves] she hasn’t changed a bit.’

A similar comment read: ‘So happy to see Toni on I’m a Celebrity. I’m predicting top three or at least top five. Still loving this song.’

After walking into the jungle on the season premiere, fans could hardly believe how young Toni looks these days.

Many commented on Twitter that the mother of two has hardly changed since starring on E Street some 30 years ago.

One fan tweeted: ‘I know it’s shallow to say, but far out Toni Pearen looks amazing. She hasn’t aged in decades.’

Another chimed in: ‘Toni Pearen looks the same and I don’t think it’s Botox.’

A third wrote: ‘Refreshing to see no Botox face on Toni Pearen, though I reckon she’s going to get lots of criticism for showing winkles on TV as well as support.’

Toni rose to fame playing Toni Windsor on E Street, before moving on to a pop career and releasing hit singles such as In Your Room and I Want You.

She appeared briefly on Home and Away in 1994, and the following year moved to America, where she lived until 2002.
