And Golda Rosheuvel revealed that her regal costumes worn on the set of Bridgerton made her take half-an-hour when using the bathroom.

Yikes! Golda Rosheuvel revealed that her regal costumes worn on the set of Bridgerton made her take half-an-hour when using the bathroom in addition to a burning scalp from wigs (pictured as Queen Charlotte)

Speaking on The After Party show on the streaming platform, she said: ‘Peeing is quite difficult, yes. It takes about half an hour to go to the toilet.’

Golda then went on to describe the discomfort she felt while wearing wigs.

She said: ‘At about 4 o’clock in the afternoon, your head starts steaming and it’s very hot under there and you can’t wait to get that s*** off.

‘I was like, “It’s burning, it’s burning!” Golda said while referring to an orange headpiece she had to wear.

‘And then I just grabbed this thing off of Adam [James Phillips] and then I just pushed it in, because it’s made of metal, it’s cold. So I was like, “Get me one of those!”‘

Golda’s pain might have been a result of glue or adhesive which is frequently used in wig application to attach the headpiece to the scalp.

Alternative methods include braiding the natural hair underneath and securing it in place by sewing the wig onto the plaits. Clips are also used to secure wigs in application.

Bridgerton has been watched by a whopping 82million households worldwide in just a month, making it Netflix‘s biggest show ever.

The eight-part series, which was launched on Christmas Day, is now the streaming giant’s most watched show in 83 countries including the UK, France and US.

Although recently released, Bridgerton has easily overtaken the previous top spot holder, The Witcher, which received 76million streams in its first 28 days.

Netflix’s head of drama Jinny Howe announced the impressive streaming numbers during an interview with Variety, adding that Bridgerton has made it into the top 10 list in every country except Japan.

Bridgerton had been expected to hit 63million households in its initial four-week projections, meaning it has smashed the target by an impressive 19m.

Netflix’s other hits including The Queen’s Gambit and Lupin have also received very healthy numbers following their launches, boasting 62m and 70m respectively, reports Deadline

Reflecting on the timing of Bridgerton’s release amid the pandemic, head of drama Jinny said: ‘I do think that I am seeing a pivot in terms of people wanting things to feel a little more aspirational and just escapist and feel good.

‘It’s hard to know where we’ll be a couple years from now, but I think that this is going to be the trend for a while. I imagine it’s going to continue to go this blue sky, feel-good route.’
