James Buckley has reportedly earned nearly £500,000 for his personalised messages on celebrity online platform Cameo.

The Inbetweeners icon, 33, has been raking in the cash by charging £41.25 per video for his hilarious impressions of the character that made him famous – outspoken student Jay Cartwright.

Another happy customer wrote: ‘Brilliant video, personalised extremely well and feels very genuine. Cheers James.’

A third agreed: ‘Awesome! Met every expectation, can’t stop laughing…. thanks so much.’

MailOnline has contacted James’ representatives for further comment.

Last year, creators of The Inbetweeners teased the cast could soon be brought back together, admitting they discuss storylines regularly.

Writing duo Iain Morris and Damon Beesley confessed it would be ‘easy’ to create more episodes, or pen an entirely different show, as long as they landed on the right idea.

The Inbetweeners originally aired on E4 from 2008 until 2010, with the franchise also spawning two movies.

Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison and James, played Will McKenzie, Simon Cooper, Neil Sutherland and Jay respectively in the coming-of-age series, which saw the group navigate high school, dating and friendships.

Speaking to Digital Spy about a reunion, Ian said: ‘I love everybody involved in it so much, and we’ve got a hilarious WhatsApp group. I can’t imagine not doing something with them ever again. I don’t know if it would be The Inbetweeners.’

Damon added: ‘We always talk about it, don’t we? It’s hard to say. The main stumbling block would be us, because we haven’t got any ideas for it that would do it justice.

‘If we could think of something and thought, “Oh, that’s a brilliant idea for those four characters” I think it would be the easiest thing in the world to just go back there and do it.’
