Hackers target Seven News and Yahoo’s Twitter accounts and troll followers with foul language and bizarre tweets about Covid lockdowns
Online hackers targeted the Twitter accounts of several news organisations on Sunday, spamming their feeds with bizarre tweets and foul language.
The hackers, known as ‘daddy yaris’ and ‘wixy’, took over the profile of Seven News Adelaide and tweeted about South Australia‘s Covid-19 lockdown.
‘F**k it, ya’ll can go back into lockdown, see if I care,’ read one post shared with the account’s 88,800 followers just after midnight.

Another tweet read: ‘Yo yo @keemaster, daddy yaris and wixy are here once again.’
Similar posts were uploaded on the Twitter accounts of Yahoo Finance Australia and Clean Up Australia in a coordinated cyber attack.
American YouTuber Daniel Keem, a.k.a. Keemstar, celebrated the hack on Seven News in a post shared with his 2.6 million Twitter followers.
‘Breaking Australia has fallen!’ he tweeted shortly after the account was hijacked.

Prank: American YouTuber Daniel Keem, a.k.a. Keemstar, celebrated the hack on Seven News in a post shared with his 2.6 million Twitter followers
Many of his followers speculated whether Keem was behind the hack, but Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting this is the case.
‘No chance you got into Seven News, that’s actually hilarious,’ one fan tweeted, while another wrote: ‘Wtf did you do!?’

Another tweeted: ‘Whoever is running the social media for @7NewsAdelaide really needs to log out for the night, or put down the beers.’
The errant tweets have since been deleted and Seven News Adelaide now has control of the account.
