Shawn Mendes keeps it very casual while stepping out for a walk with his pup Tarzan in Miami

Shawn Mendes was pictured taking his Labrador puppy Tarzan for a walk through the streets of Miami on Monday.

The 22-year-old hitmaker appeared to be enjoying his time in the shining Florida sun while getting his pooch a bit of exercise.

The There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back songwriter’s dog is co-owned by Camila Cabello, who often includes Tarzan in many of her Instagram posts.

Mendes was seen wearing a blue T-shirt featuring a graphic print of the Grateful Dead’s Steal Your Face logo; he kept his top partially tucked in during the walk.

The guitarist kept his bottom choices nice and simple as he wore a pair of black Nike running shorts and a set of matching sandals.

The Treat You Better songwriter allowed his recently trimmed brown hair to flow freely in the breeze and wore multiple bracelets on his left wrist.

Mendes first added Tarzan to his family in December, and the pup’s arrival was made public through a post made to Cabello’s Instagram account.

The 23-year-old Havana songwriter has featured Tarzan in several of her other posts, many of which also show her boyfriend hanging out with their dogs.

On Sunday, Cabello shared a trio of snaps, the first of which showed her sticking her tongue out while cradling her young Labrador in her arms.

The second shot featured Mendes kissing the couple’s German Sheperd, Thunder, while a third picture showed the pair’s other two dogs, Leo and Eugene.

Cabello’s caption for the post read, ‘our dogs kind enough to take pics w their biggest fans.’

The couple first met in 2014 at the advent of their respective careers, and released the collaborative track I Know What You Did Last Summer the following year.

Prior to starting a relationship with Mendes, Cabello was romantically linked to life coach and YouTube personality Matthew Hussey from 2018 until 2019.

Shortly after she broke off things with her former boyfriend, the Never Be The Same singer was spotted kissing her now-partner in public on multiple occasions, although they tried to keep things under wraps during the period.

That same year, the two released another collaborative track, entitled Señorita; they went public with their relationship a few months after the song’s June release.

In December of last year, Mendes spoke to Entertainment Tonight and remarked that he and Cabello have ‘absolutely’ talked about becoming engaged.

The songwriter also noted that the two have had a connection ever since their early years and that he was happy to have her in his life.

‘She’s been one of my best friends since I was, like, 15 years old…I think when you find your person, you feel and you know that you have found your person,’ he said.

Mendes then spoke about having his relationship with Cabello play out in the public eye and that he had accepted that the two would attract plenty of attention.

The musician expressed that ‘it’s super tricky, because there are a lot of people who want to know more than what is maybe normal just to give out, they want more personal stuff…It’s just kind of the nature of the beast.’
