Lady Mary Charteris reveals she was escorted out of a supermarket in Mexico

Lady Mary Charteris, who is expecting her first child with her rocker husband Robbie Furze, has revealed she felt ‘sad, angry and humiliated’ after being made to leave a grocery store because of her pregnancy.

The mother-to-be, 33, who is 27 weeks pregnant, took to Instagram to reveal she was escorted by security out of a Mexican grocery store chain, Chedraui, because ‘no pregnant women are allowed inside’ under its Covid rules.

Chedraui is a grocery store chain in Mexico, which also has branches in California, Arizona and Nevada, under the name El Super, and it’s not clear which branch the LA-based DJ visited.

The DJ daughter of James Charteris, Earl of Wemyss and March and Catherine Ingrid Guinness, of the Guinness dynasty, also revealed that she’s had the virus while pregnant, but only experienced mild symptoms.

Posting alongside a series of black and white snaps, Lady Mary said: ‘I recently got escorted by security out of a major Mexican supermarket because i’m pregnant.

‘One of their Covid rules is no pregnant women are allowed inside. Pregnant women and children are banned from buying food in Chedraui supermarkets.’

‘It made me sad, confused and angry all at the same time. It made me think of all the pregnant women out there trying to feed their families. The security made me feel like I had something wrong with me.

‘I asked if I could find my husband to tell him I had to leave and they insisted on following me around to make sure I left the premises. Humiliating.

‘Like I needed another reason to avoid giant corporate chain supermarkets and support locally grown and sourced produce.

‘I’ve had Covid and I put it down to being pregnant that my symptoms were so mild. Pregnancy superpowers.

‘Not allowing pregnant women to do their food shopping in a pandemic isn’t going to help anyone.’

The society beauty shared the story alongside a series of black and white snaps, where she displayed her blossoming baby bump while wearing black tie-up bikini bottoms.
