Love Island’s Dani Dyer looks glowing as she snuggles newborn baby son Santiago in sweet snap

New mum Dani Dyer shared a gorgeous new photo with six-week old son Santiago on Tuesday.

Proving she’s a total natural when it comes to motherhood, the Love Island star, 24, posed makeup-free for the camera with her little one propped up against her chest.

Wearing a black T-shirt, the Essex-based TV personality simply captioned her photo with a love heart emoji, while Santiago looked adorable in  a sweet teddy bear printed onesie.

Dani – who shares Santiago with boyfriend Sammy Kimmence, 24 – revealed earlier this week that it was a ‘shock’ when the couple discovered they were expecting.

Speaking to OK! magazine about her pregnancy surprise, Dani told of the moment she informed beau Sammy they were going to be parents.

‘We didn’t plan it,’ she explained. ‘It was more a case of if I fall pregnant then that’s fine, so it was a shock really.

‘I remember Sammy was downstairs playing FIFA while I was upstairs and I just thought I’d take a pregnancy test. I remember going “Babe I’m pregnant!” He just looked at me like “Really?!” with the control still in his hand.’

Since welcoming their little one into the world, Dani has admitted she was ‘so upset’ and ‘felt like her body failed her’ when she had to have an emergency caesarian-section.

Speaking about her first five weeks of motherhood on the Made by Mammas podcast earlier this month, Dani said she’s ‘grown so much’ in a month and has come to terms with Santiago’s dramatic arrival.

The mother-of-one explained: ‘I’ve really grown in a month. I felt like my body failed me, why can’t it let me naturally have a baby and I was so upset and beat myself up.’

Dani – the daughter of EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, 43 – also reflected on her difficult labour, revealing the umbilical cord was wrapped around her baby.

‘I wasn’t dilating enough for him to come out. And then we realised umbilical cord was wrapped around him so I ended with an emergency section,’ continued the former Love Island star.

Dani also said she thinks women need to step away from the notorious ‘too posh to push’ quote, adding: ‘I think that was a lot harder as recovery was tough!

‘It was horrible when I was so paralysed and numb and couldn’t even pick the baby up.

‘Now I say any woman who has a c-section, get the help and go easy on yourself.’

Dani and Sammy announced they were expecting their first child together in July 2020, just three months after rekindling their relationship following a brief separation.

The reality star ended the couple’s then 10-month romance amid claims her boyfriend’s court case for scamming two elderly men out of £34,000 had put ‘a strain on their relationship’.

The pair grew close again during the first lockdown after Sammy ‘begged’ Dani to spend time with him.

Dani shot to fame on the 2018 summer series of Love Island when she and ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham, 29, won the hearts of the nation.

The couple went on to win the show, but split just 10 months later in July 2019.
