Technicolour was written with Eurovision in mind and features a catchy chorus.

Montaigne co-wrote the song with Sydney-based songwriter and producer Dave Hammer, who has worked with Lime Cordiale and Thundamentals.

Last year, Montaigne beat the likes of Vanessa Amorosi, Casey Donovan and Jack Vidgen to perform at Eurovision.

Despite the competition being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, SBS confirmed in March that Montaigne would still be representing Australia in 2021.

‘I’m so happy to receive this good news during such times,’ she said at the time.

‘At home, we’ve started this ritual of cracking open a fortune cookie daily and reading our fortunes to each other and I got one that read, “You will be sharing great news with all the people you love.” I’m so glad it came true!’

Australia has long been obsessed with the Eurovision Song Contest, but was allowed to submit an artist until Guy Sebastian performed in 2015.

Since then, the likes of Dami Im, Isaiah Firebrace, Jessica Mauboy and Kate Miller-Heidke have represented their country in the competition.
