Chris Jensen paired with high maintenance bride Jaimie Gardner on Married At First Sight

Married At First Sight took a major risk by pairing a bride with high standards with an insecure FIFO worker with dyslexia.

Tuesday’s episode of the Channel Nine dating show saw intruders Chris Jensen and Jaimie Gardner tie the knot, despite the odds being stacked against them.

But the newlyweds with seemingly opposite personalities got along after they met for the first time at the altar.

Despite initially appearing friendly with her groom, Jaimie, 35, later told producers that she wasn’t a huge fan of his appearance.

‘He’s not my usual type. I’m not a huge fan of the hair and I’m not a nose ring kind of girl’, she whinged to producers after meeting her husband.

A disgruntled Jaimie explained that she was normally attracted to ‘more selfish, entrepreneurial type’ of guys. 

After Jaimie read her vows, a smitten Chris, 32, described his bride as ‘incredible’ to the show’s producers.

‘She’s definitely a confident woman. She’s definitely a smart woman,’ he said.

It was then time for Chris to read his vows to his mystery bride, but he faltered at first.

‘As I stand here before you, I want the witnesses present here… I’m so nervous reading this out, let’s start again,’ he said, before apologising.

It was second time lucky for Chris, who was able to finally complete his vows without any further mistakes.

‘I want these witnesses present to hear my promise to you,’ he said while looking at his bride.

‘I promise you that from this moment, I will open my heart to you in the hope that yours finds a place in which it lives forever.’   

Chris later told producers he was pleasantly surprised with his match. 

‘She’s incredibly beautiful. It seems like exactly my type at this point. I’m feeling like a very lucky man. Hopefully I’m good enough for her. I don’t know,’ he said.
