Katy Perry will ‘launch a Las Vegas residency later this year at Resorts World which will run through 2022’… after welcoming her first child last year

It looks as if performer Katy Perry is heading to Sin City for a long stay.

On Friday Billboard reported the Roar singer will have a residency at the new Theatre inside the Resorts World resort in Las Vegas, Nevada

The native of Santa Barbara – who is a judge on American Idol – is expected to start later in 2021 with a run through 2022.

Resorts World is the first new casino in Vegas to built from the ground up in the past decade. And the Theater will be extra big with 5,000 seats.

The site added that the Theater will run as a ‘joint development in partnership’ with AEG Presents.

Other stars who have residencies in Las Vegas include Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears as well as longtime resident Celine Dion.

Gwen Stefani was the most recent to head to the desert to sing her hit song.

In the past, Las Vegas has been host to such greats as Frank Sinatra and Rosemary Clooney. And in the past decade Marie Osmond and Olivia Newton-John have also made their mark there.

Perry is a new mother as she has welcomed baby Daisy with fiance Orlando Bloom.

In February she said having a baby is ‘the best decision’ she’s ever made.

The 36-year-old singer and her Bloom welcomed a daughter named Daisy Dove into the world in August, and Katy has now said she couldn’t be happier with life as a new mother, especially thanks to the support she has from her ‘incredible’ husband-to-be.

She said: ‘It’s the best decision I’ve ever made in my entire life. I have family and support, and I’ve got an incredible fiancé who has done this before – he has a 10-year-old son.’

Orlando is also father to 10-year-old son Flynn, whom he has with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr, and Katy revealed the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star tried to relay his experience as a first-time parent to her in the hopes of offering her some tips.

And while Katy was initially upset at the thought of Orlando already experiencing parenthood without her, she eventually realised his advice was helpful.

She added: ‘As much as I was a little bit like, ‘I don’t need to hear all those stories,’ they actually helped. They’re like, ‘Oh, you’ve had a run at this. You know how to do this.”

Ultimately, Katy thinks Orlando has been an ‘amazing’ father to both Daisy and Flynn, and the couple are ‘so in love’.

Speaking during an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, she gushed: ‘He’s been amazing, incredible, and we’re so in love and we’re so grateful.’

Meanwhile, the ‘Never Worn White’ singer previously admitted motherhood has made her ‘value’ every moment a whole lot more.

She said: ‘I see my daughter change so much in the past five months and looking back at photos it’s like, ‘Whoa.’ You see time in human form and it’s like …

‘Now she’s got chunky cheeks. In a way, it’s really encouraged me to be even more present and to value every day. And all we have is this moment. That’s what’s promised is this moment and nothing else … She’ll always be the No. 1 most important thing ever, naturally. But I love being a working mom. I don’t think there’s anything negative about it. It’s like, ‘Wow, you can do that and that?’ All right! That’s a woman, you know?’
