Rebecca Judd charity shop: WAG’s dignified response to re-gifting saga

Yummy Mummies star offers a dignified response after Bec Judd was caught ‘donating her brand’s loungewear to The Salvation Army just days after promoting it on Instagram’

Yummy Mummies star Lorinska Merrington is over the moon with the response to her fashion label Royale by Lorinska.

The sales for the loungewear brand have been strong, despite the negative press generated when fellow WAG Bec Judd was caught out allegedly donating items from the collection to The Salvation Army days after promoting them on Instagram.

Lorinska, 35, told the Herald Sun on Wednesday the charity shop drama certainly hadn’t impacted sales; in fact, it had been good for business.

Business is good: On Tuesday, Lorinska Merrington told The Sun Herald she was ‘thrilled’ with the response to her clothing line Royale – after Bec Judd was called out for donating the brand’s loungewear to The Salvation Army just days after promoting it on Instagram

‘I have been thrilled with the customer response since our launch,’ she said.

‘We have been overwhelmed with the feedback from mothers who have invested in Royale pieces to create special memories with their little ones.’

She added she would be launching another collection in the coming days to take advantage of the brand being a hot property.

‘I can’t wait to introduce people to our next Royale style on Thursday, which we have had to bring forward due to demand. It’s the perfect everyday essential.’

Earlier this month, Instagram account Celeb Spellcheck claimed part of a loungewear set from Royale By Lorinska had appeared at a Melbourne charity shop just two days after Bec had posed in identical items on social media.

Footy WAG Bec, 38, donned a blue Royale By Lorinska outfit on Instagram Stories alongside her daughter Billie, seven, who wore a matching set.

A fan spotted a pair of pants from the ensemble in a Salvation Army store in Hampton, a suburb near Brighton where Bec lives.

At the time, Lorinska explained to The Daily Telegraph she’d sent the items out to influencers ahead of the official launch.

‘As part of the launch campaign, Royale products were gifted to a group of influential women as we have always been about supporting each other and our business ventures,’ she said.

‘It’s disappointing to see this overshadow such a successful launch week’.

Lorinska, who is the wife of footy player Andrew Merrington, added that the first 48 hours of the launch had seen ‘an overwhelming customer response online, both locally and internationally’.

The ‘blue frills’ adult loungewear set from Royale By Lorinska sells for $89.95, while the matching ‘mini’ child sized version retails for $55.95.

The blurb on the Royale By Lorinska website explains the outfit is, ‘Everyday comfort for the everyday Yummy Mummy.’

It is intended for mothers who ‘want to add something elevated, something aspirational, and something classic to their everyday lives’.
