Jennifer, 40, received a call from her babysitter while she was completing her presenting duties on the most recent series of Ireland’s version of Strictly, Dancing With The Stars.

Stressful: Former Apprentice star Jennifer Zamparelli has revealed she was given a speeding ticket when she dashed home to tend to her injured son

Speaking to TV Now magazine, she said: ‘It was one of the hardest shows I have ever had to do and then I got a speeding ticket coming home!

‘I put the foot down driving from the studio and the Gardaí [Ireland’s police force] stopped me. My son had slipped on the floor with the babysitter and I had 10 minutes to go live.

‘I got a video from the babysitter, as he had smashed his face on the floor and lost his tooth. I couldn’t leave, they couldn’t have drafted in anybody that quick!’

Jennifer admitted she cried before going on air because she wasn’t able to get home right away to see her son.

The presenter added that she tried to explain to the police about her son’s tooth but said they wouldn’t budge, joking her son looks like a ‘little pirate’ now.

Jennifer hosts Dancing With The Stars alongside Westlife’s Nicky Byrne, with the show cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The former reality star admitted it was ‘weird’ not doing the show in recent months but said she appreciated having a Christmas without having to worry about getting into sparkly dresses right after.

Jennifer is also mother to daughter Florence, five, who she shares with husband Lau Zamparelli.
