Today show host Karl Stefanovic was left in stitches while interviewing a Gold Coast couple about their dream home on Thursday.

During the segment, Dennis and Sharon Clark showed off their Queensland mansion, which has recently been put up for sale.

‘Why on earth would you ever put this dream house up for auction?’ Karl asked.

Dennis explained: ‘Well Karl we bought this place about 10 years ago and every year we’ve been doing renovations and we started off with five children at home but now we’ve only got the one child.’

‘They’re all still alive. They’ve just moved out of the home,’ Sharon clarified as Karl burst into laughter.

The couple then continued to give Today a tour of their stunning house, as co-host Leila McKinnon asked: ‘What’s the thing you’ll miss most?’

‘Probably the bed room I’d imagine, that’s my favourite place. I don’t know if Sharon would agree with that,’ Dennis replied as Karl continued laughing uncontrollably.

‘The Goldy. This is great Gold Coast stuff,’ he said.

The luxurious property in Helensvale just off the Gold Coast canals has been listed for $3.3million.

The open-plan design also features chandeliers hanging in virtually every room – including the bath.
