DMX’s family warns against phony fundraisers following rapper’s death … as Snoop Dogg pays memorial to late artist


DMX’s family is urging people not to donate to charities in the late rapper’s name.

Survivors of the Ruff Ryders’ Anthem performer, who died earlier this month at 50, told TMZ that they have his funeral expenses covered, and any attempt to collect money for a related cause is a hoax.

The New York native’s survivors also said that they are not releasing memorial merchandise, and anything circulating following throw rappers passing are unauthorized bootleg items, the outlet reported.

Relatives of the late Party Up (Up in Here) artist, whose real name was Earl Simmons, also debunked a rumor that Jay-Z and Beyonce plunked down $10 million for the rapper’s master recordings, as some of the masters are owned by Def Jam, TMZ reported.

Family and officials in DMX’s native Yonkers, New York are currently hammering out arrangements for memorial services for the rapper, both public and private.

Snoop Dogg, 49, opened up about his late friend on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna in a segment slated to air later this week.

‘I’d like to say that DMX was wanting to glorify his relationship with God and he was always pushing the right thing,’ he said. ‘He did his time out here. He did what he was supposed to do. He influenced, he inspired and he represented. So, DMX, his soul will live on and his music will live on, as well. We thank you, brother, for what you brought to us.’

‘He was always trying to help other people. That leads me to believe that’s why God chose this angel to come back home with him.’

His family said in a statement following his passing: ‘Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart, and we cherish the times we spent with him.’
