Mads Mikklesen is set to star in the fifth Indiana Jones film alongside Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, it was revealed on Thursday.
According to a report from Deadline on Thursday, the Danish actor, 55, has been cast in the forthcoming sequel, though it is not clear who he will be playing.
His casting news follows on from Phoebe, who was announced to be taking part in the adventure flick earlier this month.

Mads has ample experience in franchise films, having previously appeared in James Bond, Marvel, and Star Wars movies in the past.
In November last year it was revealed that Mads would be replacing Johnny Depp as Geralt Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts Franchise.
The actor is also currently enjoying a successful awards season following the release of Danish film Another Round, and he is currently up for Best Actor at the Oscars.
Last week, Disney revealed in a tweet that the Fleabag star, 35, was officially part of the cast for the adventure franchise’s much-anticipated next chapter.

Disney wrote in a statement: ‘A new #IndianaJones adventure begins July 29, 2022. Phoebe Waller-Bridge joins the cast alongside Harrison Ford in the fifth installment of the iconic franchise.’
The tweet continued: ‘The inimitable John Williams will also return to score the film.’
Director James Mangold will take over from Steven Spielberg – who has directed all four Indiana Jones films so far – however, Spielberg has signed on as a producer, and will still be closely involved in production.
Deadline reports that filming will begin this summer, with Mangold currently ‘meeting with other talent for other roles in preparation for production’.

Phoebe’s forthcoming film won’t be her first with LucasFilm. The Emmy-winner voiced L3-37 in Solo: A Star Wars Story, which was a prequel about Harrison’s iconic character Han Solo.
Harrison confirmed back in February last year that he would be returning to the franchise one final time, when he leaked details about the project during an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ show.
‘I can deny that it’s NOT happening,’ he smiled, letting several seconds pass before audiences finally caught on and erupted into applause.

Ford said he was still ‘excited’ to play Indie, 39 years after originally playing the adventurous archaeologist in Steven Spielberg’s classic.
‘It’s gonna be fun,’ he told Ellen ‘I am excited. They’re great fun to make.’
LucasFilm President Kathleen Kennedy also confirmed Harrison would be back at the time, as she spoke about the project on the BAFTA Awards red carpet.
She said: ‘Harrison Ford will be involved… It’s not a reboot. It’s a continuation.

Indiana Jones won over audiences with 1981’s Raiders Of The Lost Ark – largely considered one of the best films in the action-adventure genre.
It was followed up by the equally beloved prequel Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom in 1984, and then later the sequel Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade in 1989.
Indie got the reboot treatment once more in 2008 with Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, which was slammed by fans and critics.
