Married At First Sight’s Bryce Ruthven talks about his ‘glassing incident’ at a Melbourne nightclub

Bryce Ruthven has spoken out after he was involved in a brawl at a Melbourne nightclub over the weekend.

In an interview with 2DayFM’s Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed & Erin on Thursday, the 31-year-old Married At First Sight star spoke about the altercation, which saw a woman fall through a glass table.

Bryce said he was ‘cowardly attacked’ by two men and two women during a night out with his ‘wife’, Melissa Rawson, at Bond nightclub on Saturday.

‘The first thing I saw was Melissa get shoved to the ground by one of the guys, and I was like, “Okay, what’s going on?”‘ he recounted.

‘And then I was put in a headlock or hit in the back of the head by one of the females. I turned around, shoved her off me, and in the meantime, she went through a glass table.

‘She dragged Melissa’s sister through it, and they both got glass through their legs. So they both got operated on.’

Bryce said people had since been blaming him for the fight, and denied reports he’d ‘spat on a security guard’ outside the venue.

‘I never spat on a security guard. If I did, I think I would have been king hit to the ground,’ he maintained.

Bryce said the police were investigating the incident, but claimed he and Melissa, 31, were simply keen to return to ‘normal life’.

The MAFS villain was filmed arguing with a bouncer by the entrance of the nightclub while out partying with Melissa and co-star Jason Engler.

According to an onlooker, their evening took a turn for the worse when four strangers allegedly attacked the trio inside the venue, which resulted in Bryce being removed for safety reasons.

Bryce was denied re-entry when he tried to get back inside, and things escalated as he began arguing his case to the bouncer because he wanted to be with Melissa.

The witness alleged that Melissa was ‘hit to the ground and trampled on’ by one of the male attackers, while Bryce was hit by a woman, who was then ‘shoved off’ and went through a glass table.

They claimed: ‘I was a friend that was with a group of 11 of us, who were with Melissa, Bryce and Jason.

‘The woman dragged Melissa’s sister through the table and she is now in hospital after receiving surgery for cuts to her body. Bryce has chipped teeth and requires dental attention.’

In a video of Bryce’s argument with the bouncer, the former radio announcer is seen trying to speak calmly to security, before becoming visibly irritated.

A female friend then tries to push Bryce’s arms down in an attempt to cool him off, which results in him tripping over a metal bollard.

The same woman then puts her hand in Bryce’s face to stop him from talking to security.

'I was put in a headlock or hit in the back of the head by one of the females. I turned around, shoved her off me, and in the meantime, she went through a glass table,' he said

A number of other bouncers come over to speak to Bryce as the two-minute video abruptly ends.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Bryce, Channel Nine and Bond nightclub for further comment on the incident.

Despite bringing plenty of controversy to this year’s season of Married At First Sight, Bryce is still with Melissa, against all odds.
