It comes after the news that the show she stars in – Killing Eve – will air its fourth and final season on television next year.

It was confirmed by the show on Twitter last month that the much-loved spy thriller will draw to a conclusion with its fourth instalment in 2022.

Filming of the new series was previously halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, which restricted filmed over the show’s various European locations.

Over a backdrop of London with the programme’s protagonist stood on a bridge, the words ‘Killing Eve season four films summer 2021’, appeared on screen.

Followed by ‘premieres 2022, oh one more thing, the final season’, while the show’s theme tune played over the video.

Following the announcement, many fans of the BBC show took to social media to share their dismay that the programme was coming to an end.

It was announced in July the fourth season of Killing Eve had been postponed as a consequence of the pandemic and the travel restrictions it has imposed.

Producers hoped to begin filming in August, little more than two months after season three’s finale teased fans with an ambiguous cliff-hanger on London‘s Tower Bridge.

However, original plans to push ahead with a new series were scuppered due to the current health crisis.

According to Deadline at the time there was no ‘clear return date’, until now.

To date, the drama has been shot in the likes of Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bucharest and Tuscany.
