MasterChef viewers go wild over subtle detail on Melissa Leong’s outfit during season premiere

MasterChef viewers are known to be passionate about their food. 

And it was crystal clear they’re also lovers of fashion during the season premiere of the Channel Ten cooking competition. 

On Monday night, judge Melissa Leong’s hot pink H&M-branded drop-down earrings caught the eye of viewers, which she teamed with a leopard print dress, and it was of Twitter

‘I wish I could pull head to toe leopard print and gigantic hot pink earrings off the way Melissa pulls it off,’ one fan wrote. 

Another added: ‘Melissa’s earrings are already at level epic: There’s nowhere to go from here.’ 

Yet another wrote: ‘My first takeaway from tonight’s MasterChef is to not be afraid to pair hot pink earrings with bright red lippie.’ 

The fan finished: ‘Melissa, I’ve missed you being on my screen.’

On the premiere, Melissa dazzled with her raven tresses in a glam low-maintenance ponytail.

The food star opted for a matte makeup style which was juxtaposed against a glossy red lipstick on the judge.

Melissa has had a number of trials leading up to this season with her confirming her split form husband Joe Jones in December 2020.

The Ten star said she was ready to move on from the ‘dumpster fire year’ while speaking to Woman’s Day this week.   

‘[I’m tackling 2021] with gratitude, connection, power and change,’ she reportedly told the magazine.

‘Those words I definitely consider are at the heart of what’s going on in my life,’ she added.

It comes four months after Melissa announced she’d split from her husband, bar owner Joe Jones.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on December 20, the food critic wrote: ‘It has brought us such happiness to walk together, but the time has come for Joe and I to part ways and walk on, apart.’ 

‘We ask for your kindness and consideration for our privacy, we will not be making any further comment as our private lives have, and will always remain exactly that.⁣⁣

The pair married in a small ceremony at California’s Joshua Tree National Park in February 2017, after dating for just five months.
