Phoebe Burgess laments the end of the school holidays with children Poppy, four, and Billy, two

While some parents can’t wait for the school holidays to end, Phoebe Burgess is not one of them.

On Monday, the mother-of-two lamented that her time as a ‘trio’ with her two children, Poppy, four, and Billy, two, would soon end.

Alongside a series of gorgeous photos in which the 31-year-old enjoyed a day at a flower market with her little ones, Phoebe revealed she was feeling sad that such days were numbered.

She wrote in her caption: ‘School holidays are coming to an end in, what feels like, slow motion. It’s been just the three of us, uninterrupted, attached at the hip 24 hours, seven days [a week].

‘So we’re making the most of our last little outings as a trio.  My little mate and I are going to miss our big school girl all over again.’

She did admit there were downsides to all that time together, such as: ‘a meltdown over who gets their belt done up first in the car, or who got the most tomato sauce and fluffiest pastry on their homemade sausage rolls or why I won’t play Barbie Girl for the 12,000th time in one trip’.

The emotional mother finished her nostalgic post by writing: ‘I’m not crying, you are’.

It comes after Phoebe opened up in a candid interview, revealing the harrowing aftermath of her split from her NRL star husband Sam Burgess in October 2019.

Speaking to this week’s Stellar Magazine, the former journalist said there are days she wants to ‘break down’ but the support of her family – and motherhood, has been her saving grace.

She added: 'So we're making the most of our last little outings as a trio. My little mate and I are going to miss our big school girl all over again'

‘Motherhood is something I took for granted for so long. I mean, some days it was a real inconvenience,’ she told the magazine.

‘But in the past 18 months, it’s literally been everything. It’s why I’m here. It’s why I haven’t checked out.

‘I have days when I want to give up and fall apart and I just want to break; I want to go to sleep and not wake up for a while, for everything to stop, but you can’t.’

She added: ‘It sounds awful but being trapped in motherhood and being trapped in responsibility has saved my life. [My children] are my purpose, and when you have that purpose nothing can drag you away from them.’
