Chloë Sevigny, Natasha Lyonne and Annie Murphy spotted filming on the NYC set of Russian Doll

Chloë Sevigny, Natasha Lyonne and Annie Murphy were seen filming on the set of Netflix‘s award-winning mystery dramedy Russian Doll on Sunday in New York City.

The Orange Is the New Black actress, 42, and Murphy, 34, were seen standing close together in all-black ensembles as they continued shooting the series’ second season. 

Murphy, best known for her starring role as Alexis Rose on Schitt’s Creek, wore wide-brimmed glasses and a brown, curly wig, which hovered just above her shoulders.

Lyonne cut an edgy figure in a long, double-breasted jacket with gold-tone buttons, a coin necklace, aviator sunglasses and her trademark wild hair worn down. 

Meanwhile, Sevigny, who welcomed her first child Vanja Sevigny 11 months ago with husband Siniša Mačković, was seen in a patterned white and fuchsia dress under a brown leather jacket with with sherpa lining. 

Between scenes, Lyonne made sure to keep her nose and mouth covered under a white face mask amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In February, it was announced Murphy was joining the star-studded cast.

Russian Doll was co-created by Lyonne, Amy Poehler and Leslye Headland, who all serve as executive producers as well.

The Sleeping With Other People actress also co-writes many of the show’s scripts and has served as one of its directors.

Principal photography on the show began in 2018 with shooting occurring in New York City, where the show takes place.

Russian Doll follows Nadia, played by Lyonne, who finds herself stuck in a time loop that occurs on the night of her death.

Eventually, the actress’ character meets a man named Alan, played by Charlie Barnett, who is caught in the same situation, and the two attempt to figure out the cause of their situation.

Also starring in the series are Greta Lee, Yul Vasquez and Elizabeth Ashley, with performers such as Sevigny and JD Samson appearing in guest roles.

Critical reception for the first season of the show was widely positive, with many viewers commending Lyonne’s performance as the main character.

Principal photography on the upcoming season of the show was supposed to begin in March of 2020, but was delayed for an entire year due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the entertainment industry.

The new episodes of Russian Doll currently do not have a set release date.
