Jesinta Franklin pays tribute to her mum Valerie Campbell in a heartfelt post on Instagram

Jesinta Franklin has praised her mother, Valerie Campbell, in an affectionate post on Instagram on Thursday.

The 29-year-old model and former Miss Universe Australia shared a series of photos of herself and her beloved mum lazing on a rug outside.

Their close bond is on full display, with Jesinta resting her head on Valerie’s lap, as her mother tenderly stroked her arm.

A second photo showed the two women sharing a laugh, as Jesinta covered her face with her hand while in hysterics.   

‘My mum is my original influencer, the woman who taught me everything I know about beauty and beyond,’ she captioned the post, which was an ad for cosmetics company Aveda.

‘Throughout the years my rituals have been instilled by her; she knows a lot about true beauty and has taught me that is the way you hold yourself, the way you treat others, how you treat yourself, the way you love and how you give back.’

Jesinta also shared more stunning photos with her mum on Instagram Stories, and captioned one: ‘If I know what love is… It’s because of you.’

‘My mum, my first beauty mentor,’ she captioned a second photo posted to Instagram Stories. 

In an interview with  The Morning Show in August 2018, Jesinta spoke about her mum’s brave battle with bowel cancer.

‘She’s made it through. We’re very, very lucky,’ she said at the time, describing it as ‘really tough’ for her family.  

Jesinta said she and her family were completely blindsided by the cancer diagnosis.

‘We had no idea, she had no symptoms… she’s vibrant, she’s fit and she’s healthy,’ she added.
