Richard Wilkins reveals he’s ‘delighted’ as he and Nicola Dale welcome a new member to their family

Richard Wilkins is a proud father to five children.

And now, the 66-year-old Today star is welcoming a new little addition to the family, an adorable fur baby named Fred.

The veteran entertainment reporter revealed on Wednesday that he and girlfriend Nicola Dale have adopted an Australian Cobberdog or Labradoodle, who now even has his own Instagram account. 

‘Delighted to announce a new member of our ever-expanding family,’ Richard wrote underneath a sweet image of his pet pooch. 

‘We love you Fred… and look forward to many wacky adventures.’

On Thursday morning, Richard shared a picture of Fred on his lap as they watched the sunset together from his Sydney mansion. 

‘Fred’s first night at his new home… some of the locals dropped around to say G-day… he’s very advanced… even has his own Insta @Fredthecobberdog,’ Richard wrote. 

A sweet picture was also shared on Fred’s Instagram account, showing Richard and Nicola hugging the pooch. 

Richard has five children to four different mothers: sons Adam, Christian and Nick, and daughters Rebecca and Estella. 

Estella’s mother is fashion designer Collette Dinnigan, who reportedly lives in Rome. 

Richard and flight attendant Nicola went Instagram official back in July, when the TV star shared a cosy photo of the pair to Instagram. 

They were also caught kissing by the paparazzi in June last year.

The pair were reportedly introduced by mutual friend Ben Fordham at a party earlier that year.
